We still have to keep our feet firmly on the ground at the moment we have signed seven players, four to replace out going loans, all good lads, two maybe three we would have accepted back with open arms, one another goalkeeper and one a replacement for the best striker in the division Gyokeres, so realistically it is only Tatsu who is a new position so to speak, bonus there he could be the star of the show.
It’s the next batch of signings that will be the ones I’m eager to see which hopefully will propel us to the top end of the division and maintain that all season. Rose, Waghorn, Walker & Maguire were at best subs, we need at least two more strikers, three if Godden moves on, getting that right imo is key to next season, strikers always are. replacing Gyo goals & assists is a big task.
Also we need another CB to come in for Rose and the ageing McFadzeen not easy a proper hairy arsed old school centre-half but a very influential player last season. Can still do a job for a while but imo needs replacing.
Not being pessimistic just realistic and I am optimistic those we have already signed will all fit the bill and the bonus are all ours.
Robins spoke last week about bringing in another nine and has just signed two of them and as yet no loans he knows the score, if he’s successful in recruiting what would be another seven I’m sure he will be going for potential better players permanent or loans. We still have a decent chunk of the Gyo money left so I’m optimistic better players than what we have will come in.
And remember we have Callum O’Hare to come back in the Autumn be like a new signing.
And Hamer, hopefully.
