I want to know what happened to Hamer wanting £20k, then £22k...? Next week, will he want £70k and that's ok?

Also his wife left him and he wants tk be closer to his son (Fulham maybe?) - then in a twist plot his son lives with him - then he’s seeing a local lass and in a shocking plot twist yet to be revealed he’s in a relationship with one of the players we’ve released

I don’t think so. I just wouldn’t agree with a wage structure a player can just come in at the top of with no proven history with the club.

You’d never get a star player join a club then.

Agreed that probably no one on here knows how much he earns (obviously he and the club do). Then you go and ruin it by declaring that you know it's not as high as previous poster said.

It’s a made up figure but frankly I’d expect the club to make the new centre forward from a premier club it’s highest paid player so oddly we get a good striker

This division has seen countless players bought for £1 million that have not got anywhere near Hamer's level, it just isn't that easy.
I'd never argue it was, but I trust us to improve players. If he leaves and we sign a new midfielder for a decent fee, I don't want people to forget that Hamer took a while to get to the level he did.

Im not sure that’s true, but should we be signing players with no higher ceiling with our intended model?

So Messi would join a club and not be the highest paid?

So it's ok for you to make up figures but not others? Let's be honest none of us know and rightly so.

Totally agree. Of course he is

Not that straightforward though is it?

The club have sold its biggest goalscorer and creator we’ve had for years. You need to replace that player with someone whose going to be a suitable replacement

Social media hysteria is off the scale - it’s almost give Hamer what he wants and ignoring the fact that we have other key areas to fill - one being the best player the club has had since premier league relegation

It’s not money that Gus wants, it’s top flight football.
He can have both and he and his agent know that. It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t love being at Cov or value his relationship with Robins, his team mates or the supporters. It simply means he knows he is ready to move on to the next stage in his life and career.

Yep.

You can argue about how much a week he's worth, but he's clearly the best player on merit that's just not even a debate.

Gyokeres was the most impactful player last season and needs replacing as best as he can with resources available

Ok - how much would you pay him

I wouldn’t deviate from the contract on offer

It would be interesting to know what people think the maximum he should be offered is.

What we’ve offered him. You can’t start letting players demand extra terms. He’s had an offer and that’s it

What Gyokeres did last season is utterly irrelevant to who the best player currently at the club is ffs.

I have no idea. None of us have any idea what he's been offered, what he's asking for, or what he's worth.

But the notion he isn't our best player on merit is utterly absurd.

Well many on here are banding figures about!

Why so coy?

Messi could have gone to Saudi Arabia and get paid Mega money but chose Miami instead for the sake of his family.

But having said that he doesn't need the extra money anyway.

Is he the highest paid at Miami?
