Kent is a 3 hour drive away - a flight to Amsterdam is what? 40 minutes? Pay a fiver for fast track security you’re through in 5 minutes.

He may do, When I last moved role I spoke to multiple companies in London where salary would be higher but they wanted me in the office 3 days a week and I have a young child so I told them to do one and stayed local. Money isn't the be all and end all.

It's quite amusing that people seem to have looked at the flight time from Birmingham to Amsterdam and concluded its therefore a quicker door to door journey than driving to Kent

3-4 hours door to door is the same as me getting the train to Cov from just outside of Manchester. I don't have a 2 hour working day either.

Fan of modern slavery? If it's affecting him so much he wants to leave the country then the honourable thing to do is let him join a Dutch club if his choice for a fee now, whatever that may be, rather than keep him here being miserable for a year.

Modern slavery is a bit strong Sports that involve fees are nothing like any other type of industry but the players know what they are signing up for and are compensated very well. If a Dutch club came up with a decent fee I'd be happy to let him go but not terminate his contract.
