His family don't come before the club from our perspective at all.
I’m not sure where you got that I was coming from our perspective. My comment on family comes before football was clearly from his perspective and something you cannot begrudge him for.

It’s not even confirmed it’s anything to do with family

Appreciate the info you give on here but I thought Robins was implying his head had been turned by bigger offers and bigger clubs rather than it being a personal issue.

Oh there has been contact from other clubs through agent who make it clear they'll pay him double what we can but apparently thats not his priority 🤷

A year's a long time to wait to go home too. If it was family and it was affecting him so much he was wanting to go back to Netherlands, there's a big rush in holding him here, unhappy and distracted, with consequent risk to performance and temperament.

It’s just nonsense it’s it

We'll he's an unbelievably good actor if he's unhappy and distracted whilst recent videos show him to be the consummate professional footballer and an all round popular person.

If it is (and I'd hazard a guess virtually no one on this forum truly knows) a personal issue then I hope for his and his loved ones it's resolved quickly.

Again, I never said it was?

Just like you saying it’s nonsense, this is purely my opinion on the situation based on some info that an ITK (Sometimes questionable) had posted.

The family thing is overblown i think, there are 6-7 flights to Amsterdam a day from Birmingham. It's as easy to get there than most of the UK from Brum by train. Footballers have a lot more free time than your average person.

It’s still a distance and not something you’d want to do on the regular. Depending on where in they NL he’s going it could be a three or four hours trip door to door.

How's it different to Godden living in Kent? I get it psychologically but not from a time/distance point of view.
Apparently Gus doesn't like flying. I heard that's why he didn't go to Portugal. 2 day trip in a taxi might not appeal to him.

Is it not more likely the fact that he will only see his son once a week at best during the season that is the issue here, not the travelling.

same for godden I’d assume - I worked with a guy who lived in Germany - went back most weekends

It's an issue concocted by lunatics on a football forum. He wants more money and will get in one way or another.
Is your opinion…. If he leaves on a free and signs for another English club then you could say this is correct.

hardly abnormal working away. That’s what he’s doing this year - well actually he’s playing at weekends so how’s that working anyway?

Well it’s certainly not the norm to be in another country to your kids is it?

If he plays in Holland, he can see his kid pretty much when he likes. If he’s playing for us he will be able to go once a week at most during regular game weeks.

Apart from if he lives in a different part of the country to them, which would be quite likely.

Well yes plenty work away in countries for a period of time

Also what if no one wants him in Holland. Does he get a job as a taxi driver so he sees his son?

More I'd say, especially when you take into account the time wasted sat at the airport.

Bit different to jumping in a car and driving a couple of hours like Godden.

My days, but if you could something about it then you would no?

No parent would choose to do that if there were viable alternatives on offer.

Driving for two hours is less hassle than driving then security then flying then security then driving 🤷🏻‍♂️

Id prefer the flight than hours on the M25. Lots commute for work and back - it’s really not that big a deal.
