?! I mean what else do you expect him to say in his welcome interview?!

"I wanted to join someone better but you'll do"

I actually think he was pretty reasonable, not too over the top. Said it's a dream to play in the Prem. He even gave a little dig about their goal being on the break when they asked about the 3-1 loss last season. Also complementary about us and the fans which wasn't even prompted.

Fair point and no issue with what he’s said on his first interview for them. My issue is with the “exit interview” with us. No need for it. That coupled with his one for them makes it even more waffle.

I’m not a fan of them at all. Get a couple of minutes of someone talking about how much the love the club and the fans at the same time another club is posting a video where they’re saying it’s a dream move and the supporters there are amazing

No player should get stick for improving and securing a better future. They don't commit to a life time of support to a club like us, they commit to a contract, well at least the vast majority do.

I agree. I just don’t think we need the ‘love the club and the fans’ stuff. It’s weird.

I know people's views on his posts, but if this is true, it makes it hurt that little bit more....😐

Are we seriously supposed to believe that the club was willing to pay £7.7m for Haji Wright but couldn’t muster the couple of extra grand a week that Hamer supposedly wanted? I would almost guarantee that Wright is on as much, or more, than the figure we ‘supposedly’ refused to offer Hamer. It’s just complete bullshit being served up by someone who has a grudge against the owner and wants to make his mate look good. Probably got nothing better to do now he can’t afford to pay for a box at the arena and attempt to be best mates with blokes 20 years younger than him.

What gets me is all summer they’ve pushed him on socials, using dirty marketing techniques on their own support to get us to buy more STs but in the knowledge that he doesn’t really want to stay.
But all summer long he’s been a Coventry City player under contract, as such the club would be missing a trick not to push their greatest asset when trying to market the club.
Nothing I’ve seen or heard indicate’s that the club were fully aware of his intentions, honestly don’t think you can hang the blame for this on the club.
At first it all seemed to be about his need to be closer to his family and young son in Holland, if his new footballing home turns out to be Sheffield we can be assured he’s better at football than talking straight.

Robins and the scouts should really have replacements lined up
There will definitely be a list of replacements. Even when the scouting team was one bloke and a laptop they were working 12 months ahead. But if this has all moved as quickly as it seems are we likely to already be in talks with anyone? 3 weeks of the window left and still work to do.

You can understand it a bit more from a Wilson or Shippers who grew up with the club. When it comes from a player who used us as a stepping stone for a couple of years it looks a bit false. Good luck to Gus he gave us a lot and we loved him for it. I'm not convinced he will make it in the Prem. None of the established teams thought he was worth 14-15 mil which in Premier league terms doesn't buy you much.

Although thinking about it, Doug could have insisted on it to get some heat off himself.

Fuck knows. I’m going back to sleep.

But maybe he actually does love the club, they aren't robots. He probably would have loved to have played in the Prem with us but a football career is short he has to jump on the opportunities that come his way.

Said many times, football is still a job to the players, but it does have an emotional element that a lot of jobs don't entail.

I love my job and coworkers but if someone offered me double the money to do the same work in far better facilities I'd be off. I'd be sad to leave and want to make things amicable but you can't pass those life choices.

The exit interviews are a new thing... can't recall anyone other than Gus and Vik doing one ? (? Just for you ).

he‘s a clever lad, off to sheff utd, they get relegated, he has a half decent season, prob scores the odd worldie goal to get noticed, and he drops a few hints to feyenord and off he goes back to Holland,

Sorry, but that is utter utter waffle. Then followed up by talking about joining Sheffield United like it’s Real Madrid. Why do fans fall for it.

“The players actually love us and want to tongue us all”
Looks like they were trying to copy Gyokeres message to the fans when he left.

Gyokeres came across more genuine and less staged than this.

Stop with the good points please.

If Feyeonord couldn’t afford £15m from us this season I can’t see them buying out the remaining 3 years of his contract from Sheffield next summer.

I’m more talking about loving the fans than the club anyway. They don’t love the fans for fuck sake. We can turn on them in a second. I have professional footballers in my family. They don’t love the fans.

Unlikely tbh they pay 15k a week tops.

I’ll delete it mate ha ha

Ha that was classic, went for the nuclear option, a tonic to the sickly exit interviews 😂🤣

Can't comment on the other stuff but think there may be a point in there about the lifestyle/diet choices. Does pile on the lbs in post season, granted he always shifts it but the elite sporting mindset doesn't really seem natural to him.

Mentioned on another thread that he may burn out at a bit earlier than you see some top players reach now. He deffo doesn't seem a water, quinoa and yoga pro like a Ronaldo, more a beer and kfc man like Wazza.

Makes it more important for him to make the money now as he ain't playing til he's 40

I remember several years ago Sheffield united fans saying on social media they'd never play us again when we went to league 2 after crying about our protests , let's be honest , none of us actually wish gus all the best at that wank hole and hope they come back down .. but nothing would please me more than to pass them .. so I really hope Robins gets the next couple of signings right .. its twice these dicks have taken our best midfielder
Yep definitely a top 5 hated club for me, no best wishes at all, we take the money and move on.

For all the sucking Hamer off on social media, Vik actually looked way more emotional about leaving.
