Middlesbrough looking very poor in their 4-2 defeat to Baggies.

QPR v MBoro next game. Sheffield Wed already looking like they're going to struggle. Think Cardiff, Rotherham and QPR to fill 2 of the bottom 3 between them, with Sheff Wed as a definite.

Wedns, Rovrum, Cardiff down. B'ham reprieved from relegation troubles with new owners best wishes.
Leicester, So'ton autos, Norwich playoffs winners. Leeds try to sniff but nowhere close end up lucky in top half.
Hull City somehow a surprise package sneak into playoffs, solely due to Allsop somehow managing to score in final moments in their 2nd game against Blackburn Rovers. Sunderland once again just barely manage to finish one place behind our proud men.

Apparently Cardiff were very poor against Wednesday. They didn’t create and looked dodgey in defence.
Ramsey is, and I quote, “fucking shite”.

The first game she’s been able to go to this season, Mrs D came back looking like they’d lost, and is bracing herself for a long season again.
By way of encouragement I suggested that at least they’re better than last year. This was met with a dubious sounding “Hmmmmm”.

Good news then hopefully!

Watford had one of those days today it seems. They've had 58 shots in last 3 games and failed to score once. Probably not the best time to be playing them.

Looked like a lot of very talented individuals, rather than a team to me (having watched today).

Yeah. Would prefer to play them after scoring 58 goals from 58 shots.

Having watched Watford, they look equally capable of putting 4 past anybody, or being awful. Some very talented youngsters, but a lot of them seem to want to carry out all the tricks you see on facebook, instagram etc, that look brilliant if they come off, but look stupid if they don't. No doubt they'll all come off against us!

Of course I wasn't being serious.

But you can't rely on stats. So why haven't they been scoring? All long range? Useless up front?
Trying to score Arsenal/Messi type wonder goals a bit too often. Like I said, they will give some teams a hammering when it clicks, but will misfire regularly if they keep overplaying as they did at the weekend. Some very good individuals, though.

Or maybe just like us. Good players but start of the season. Learning how each other play. Could take about 10 games to get fitness and play the way the manager wants.

We had 20 shots against Leicester. The result could easily have gone the other way. On another day we could have hammered them but we lost to a late goal.

Fair enough It's just that innate pessimism I have as a City fan that says a team with that much ability doesn't go four games without scoring and it will obviously all come together against us. Completely irrational of course.

Thought exactly the same. Very unpredictable team. However, it is very unlikely they will go 4 games without scoring.

Why do the arsenal's and Messi of world tend to do better than the Bolton's(once goofball,no idea if still tbf) and Clive platts then?

It's a better long term strategy to win.

Why did George Graham’s Arsenal do so well

Comparing Messi to Clive Platt is ridiculous

Different tactics work. In this era it's expansive football that seems to be most successful. So having a go at Watford for trying to score nice goals is silly

Only if you have the players to play that way will it work sometimes you have to bang it into the box and see what happens. If everybody played like arsenal the game would be dull nil nil and have to be decided on passing percentage.

We have a few big lads in our side now, would be silly to not try and take advantage of that
That doesn't mean I'm advocating hoofball but we can mix it up a bit more now

I agree but Watford clearly feel they can play that way?

If they had 58 shots I imagine they ain't million miles away from achieving what they want

Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle ultimately won nothing but entertained just about everyone in the process. Better that than plaudits for trying to hack the opposition off the pitch

A lot of teams think they can play that way and we seem to be one that is following, there were times on Saturday the wing backs got wide and instead of putting it in the box they passed it back or inside, we have two strikers who are massive and should be able to head it.

Seem to remember it was one largely.

To be clear, i never had a go at them. i was making an observation. Watford have an abundance of what I would call flair players, but almost too many of them in the starting line up imo. Like I said, they will rip a few teams apart, but I cannot see them being successful regularly enough to be challenging at the top, Don't think they have the balance right - but fun to watch.

Got 5 goals in first 2 games. Only let in 3 goals in 5 games. Not bad for 7 and a half hours play. Like us not far away from being a good side.
