He’s stuck in limbo really - a bit too good to leave on the bench, but not quite so good as to justify tearing up the whole gameplan just to accommodate him. As it stands I have no idea why we’ve signed him.Sakamoto gives defenders a right headache as he goes both ways, need to find a system to get him in
Correct, but that Norwich team was far better than the Cardiff side we couldn't lay a glove on for most of tonight. We only lost two of the next 14 after that. Like I said earlier, hopefully this is a galvanizing result.
Well... Many better stats than Hamer fwiwMakes me think we’ve signed players off the back of XG bollocks or whatever and nothing else. I’m sure Allen’s stats look shite on a spreadsheet.
No offence, the gameplan needs tearing upHe’s stuck in limbo really - a bit too good to leave on the bench, but not quite so good as to justify tearing up the whole gameplan just to accommodate him. As it stands I have no idea why we’ve signed him.
He should take Palmer's place on Monday. He’s stuck in limbo really - a bit too good to leave on the bench, but not quite so good as to justify tearing up the whole gameplan just to accommodate him. As it stands I have no idea why we’ve signed him.
It’s got to change but I somehow doubt we’re going to build the team around Sakamoto. No offence, the gameplan needs tearing up
Worse than we were when we first got promoted.
I was closely watching the movement of Kelly and Eccles. Kelly was always showing for the ball and getting into good positions to receive. Eccles movement was lacklustre as though he wanted to be seen to be looking but didn't really want it. Eccles looked low on confidence. He improved a little after a crunching tackle he made and seemed to improve again when there was little to play for and there was more urgency.I also believe our problems are midfield. Two midfielders who don't want to show for the ball and don't want to take risks. Both like getting stuck in and tracking back, which is fine, but that's not a balanced midfield. On tonight's showing Kelly would stay in to do that job.
Playing Wright and Godden together is strange because neither of them particularly want to show for the ball either. They both like to run on to perfect passes through the lines - which we're not doing with our current midfield set up.
This is the problem. People are complaining at Eccles and Kelly but there's little point playing it forward when it's not going to stick. None of the forwards hold the ball well but Godden at least scores goals. Wright and Simms look so poor signings. He’s off and running before it’s even come to him like he thinks the defender isn’t there. Infuriating. And he’s lightweight. Can’t control, can’t shoot, can’t pass. Doesn’t know where to be. The midfield don’t want to pass to him as they know it’s coming straight back. He needs serious work. £7 fucking million or whatever it is. Jesus fucking christ.
How about lyle Taylor he's available on a free?

Wilson made no attempt for there 3rd goal.
Can someone post on here what Robins says in his interview
I said it after the Wimbledon gameSomeone else said it earlier but it’s an intriguing thought.
Doug King is new to football.
At what point does he lose his patience and seek to stamp his authority on the club.
The only millionaires I know are extremely mean with their cash. I guess that’s why they are millionaires
We currently have a league 1 striker in WrightLeague 1 clubs are turning him down.
One minor defence of Wright is he looks like the type of striker you want to hit earlier down the channels…unfortunately we spent most of the match strolling round the pitch passing it sideways and backwards at a friendly pace
Let’s hope Robins has words, makes some changes and sorts them out for next week as that was poor. I accept its a period of transition and always going to be a bit disjointed but at the very least we should get some intensity, energy and movement
He was the only one apart from Da Silva that looked like getting a cross in tonight. Godden and Simms need that imo.I'm not even convinced by Sakamoto yet. Yes, he's got a low centre of gravity and he's tricky but he slows the game down so much while he waits for the defender to catch him up, just so he can skin him again, that Cardiff had reorganised and had a box full of players every time he crossed the ball.
Simms hasn’t really been given a proper chance and should absolutely be starting next game. As our record signing, Wright doesn’t look great so far. This is the problem. Hopefully we don't pay as much as Birmingham city council have for their taxi'sIt seems a taxi has been seen in Cardiff
I know we should give him time but how long exactly. His last two matches have been shocking and the odd flash of pace isn't enough. Not that fussed about that. I mean we often sign players with dodgy scoring records, we nullified Chaplin, JCH and even Walker by trying to turn them into something they weren't... I'd love to know what system for the best out of Wright and what we thought we were buying. He's shown flashes, it's still really early to judge but... my that was bad from him today.
It looked like he jumping out of the way/scared of the ball.Yeah that was really weird, like he was expecting the flag to go up and was just sticking a leg out. Really odd(/shit).
Hope not.It could prove to be a terrible bit of business by the club
