I seem to remember Graham Taylor, when England manager, playing General Stormin’ Norman Schwartzkopf in goal on a bouncy hopper. That seemed to work
although it might have been in Viz

Anyone calling for Robins head needs to give their heads a wobble . Woeful tonight but sacking one of our greatest ever managers isn’t a realistic suggestion
I would sooner sack Austin if the season goes fully pear-shaped, but Robins has been given an opportunity to spend money that likely won’t be given to another manager for years and years. If he fucks it up then King will quite reasonably wonder if he has the right guy in charge.

Biggest challenge of his career. We looked as bad today as when we first came up. Only now he’s spent £20m and needs to show results. And he’s doing it in front of a crowd that we all know could turn.

I didn't think we were. Thought we were second to every ball. Kelly was fine, but Eccles who in theory should be the more dynamic of the two was extremely slow and half a yard behind the game. Not to mention his passing was awful.
Not sure I agree. I think that the problem was that Kelly and Eccles are too similar in style. We had two defensive midfielders and a big gap between them and Palmer

Not happy with Robins interview.

He clearly doesn't fancy Sakamoto.

I get that , tonight was shocking and second half against Hull wasn’t great but we do throw in a dreadful performance here and there. Norwich last season , Luton the season before …
Tonight has to be a huge wake up call and Robins has to trust the flair players

We were if you exclude Palmer.

We weren’t. Palmer was poor but pretending the whole performance was down to him is a little silly. It wasn’t until Latibeaudiere moved forwards a bit that Eccles and Kelly finally started appearing in the opposition half. And even then the balls played are obvious and slow paced and short range. We never switch the angle of attack any more, no one is confident playing a ball because they don’t have the technique. They’re both fine sitting there and passing to someone with vision and talent, but together you get constant turning back and playing little triangles to nowhere.
