Why?

If he is only on 10k a week it is over half a million a year. Just 2 year contract? They would have to give him over a million to get rid of him. Then he is free to do as he likes. Get another manager role and fail again?

Imagine Pressley, Thorn or Slade doing that?

First half nothing really came off and I thought here we go again. Good flourish for 15 mins when things clicked then a little end to end again. Really pleased for Simms thought he was strong last game and today saw him holding the ball up a little more bringing the midfield in to play. Eccles had a poor first half but 2nd half looked back to himself. Allen busy as always. Defence looked solid apart from Binks looking for a foul that was never going to be given. I'd still like to see us whip more crosses in rather than play safe for Fadz to loft the ball in from a worse position. They definitely should have had a penalty but I did think there was a foul on one of our players just before it. Godden was more in the game today but I do wish he would stop berating players who have a pop. We will see better performances and lose but 3 points on the road in the bag.

Watching Clarke-Salter today was a treat. What a dreadful signing for QPR. Injured for an entire season and then dreadful today.

We've had 4/5 better centre halves since.

Someone called him wank chops apparently

Could be a job for the Basildon Gazettes version of Bob Woodward to find the culprit

Did anyone here Gurney read out the text from Boosh after the game?

Firstly great to see Simms with a brace - will work wonders for his confidence. Similar to what others have mentioned he comes across well in an interview as a well balanced individual. He has huge scope for improvement in my opinion. There's little doubt that QPR are shit however and for periods Cov weren't great either. The acid test will come when the injured players return and what occurs in January regarding the midfield. Currently that area is pretty uninspiring and it's going to be a case of trying to grind out results for a while

Watched the first half on phone and didn’t see the second half so can’t comment much other than delighted with the result.

Somehow makes Monday nights last minute even more annoying. Would’ve been a good bit of momentum building but hopefully that starts from here.

Hopefully the blood boilers / taxi callers will be able to calm down a bit tonight. PUSB

What a contrast and the ultimate “game of two halves” Can’t underestimate how important Allen is in the interim.

Allen enables it by moving between the lines and making himself an option, it's just something Palmer doesn't do.

The problem we’ve had with 3 central midfielders was palmers inability to either drive the opposition into the holding two as O Hare did or link and push forward like Allen

He was a really bizarre signing and I’m sure if he hadn’t been at Chelsea he’d never have been here

Palmer's movement is poor, he stands still most of the time, whilst marked.

I dunno, I can see why he's been signed, and I can see why every manager does sign him, because if you can unlock him you end up with a bargain. It's a harsh comparison in many ways(!) but he reminds me of a technically adept DaCosta, in that you can see he can have a role in terms of his physique and technical ability in isolation but somewhere his football brain isn't quite there and that means in games he doesn't do what you hope he will... but you keep perservering in the hope he finds out how to do it one day.

He’s a 26 year old in a 50 year old body I don’t actually know what we do with him now
