USSR invades Ukraine. (100 Viewers)

Wasn't that what happened in Crimea.

Do that and give Russia land give it a couple of years for Putin to stock back up and it all starts again, as it basically says if you invade another country you end up with more territory out of it. It'd be like giving a kid trying to steal a tray of cakes one of the cakes as a way to tell them off.
‘The West needs to butt out of Putin’s invasion, it’s none of their business’

‘The West is evil for invading other countries grrr’

I’m beginning to think there were a few on here sitting up watching shock and awe until the early hours from their armchairs.

Yes certainly thinking that because someone doesn't want Ukraine wiped off the map means they must have enjoyed watching a smaller weaker country get bombed to fuck is a real logical conclusion to draw.

Get round a table and negotiate, which will inevitably mean loosing some land to Russia, probably the areas where the locals are Russian anyway, but its the only way to stop the killing.

And its inevitably going to happen in the end anyway.

The longer we supply Ukraine with weapons the longer the killing continues with no chance of success. The west is running out of ammunition while Russia has turned its amo factories to maximum output and is getting stronger everyday.
There were no oblasts with a Russian majority population before the 2014 conflict started. War has possibly forced parts of Donbas & luhansk into Russian majorities as native Ukrainians were forced to flee the conflict.

Along with this and the idiots in the GOP and all they're doing at the moment, does it not make you think maybe you're on the wrong side?
The wrong side of what? All I want is for the war to end ASAP and people to stop being killed by a conflict that will inevitably be a stalemate.

The side of stopping sending arms to Ukraine.

This is the viewpoint of Trump and the GOP, Orban and the the new Slovakia president. And seemingly a few people in here.

I'm just saying if I was on the same side as those people I'd probably stop and consider whether I was on the right side.

I'm beginning to wonder if you're Boris Johnson.

Well he’s say the same as you?

Well as always Boris Johnson did something for the benefit of Boris Johnson.

But I'd rather be on the same side as him than the same side as Trump, Orban, Kim Jong Un, Kadryov and err... Putin.

That's quite a simplistic way of seeing it. There's also a diverse range of people who don't support prolonged bloodshed, including Jezza -

😂

Using 'Jezza' to backup your stance of stopping arms to Ukraine isn’t quite the win you think it is.

I haven't claimed it's a win but the points about a lack of focus on peace by world leaders are very good points. You've admitted yourself you have zero interest in peace though and seem to relish the war continuing.

No. I've admitted, over and over, that I've no interest in Ukraine being wiped off the map.

You and others in here, along with Putin, Trump and Orban, seem to 'relish' that.

How is working towards negotiated peace having Ukraine "wiped off the map"? If you had your way they'd be years and years of stalemate with hundreds of thousands more deaths and there being next to nothing left of Ukraine.

Because as it stands there is zero chance of peace. So it's either arm Ukraine or let Russia crack on.

Anyone who supports stopping arms to Ukraine or handing part of Ukraine to Russia is on Russia's side. It's as simple as that.

Indeed, such a simplistic way of seeing the world. Thank goodness there’s been more pragmatism throughout history, eh.

Still can’t believe that people ignore their own eyes and feel Putin can be negotiated with in good faith.
And in the same way I can’t believe people think it’s going to be anything other than a stalemate. Even with billions in funding against supposedly, according to posters on here, one of the most disorganised armies in the world, hardly any actual progress has been made by Ukraine.

Well. That’s just a detachment from reality. Ukraine made huge gains last summer. Russia used winter to dig in defensive positions and turn the front line into the most mined country in the world. Anyone who thought that Ukraine would make the gains this summer that they did last summer is delusional. Despite that Ukraine has made gains and broke through Russian lines. It also looks possible that they might even cut of Crimea before winter. If that happens that is a major gain, both in terms of territory and psychologically. This will be a major embarrassment for Putin and who knows, might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
