I'm not trying to say that Eccles' corners were Beckham like but it looks like an element of our supporters have a beef with him, and that to them he is slowly becoming the new Shipley! The corner issue offers an obvious stick to beat him with. Oggy alluded to it in the commentary last weekend, but all the corners in the first half were clearly aimed at someone making a run to near post and then flicking the ball on, as Godden did for a Wright goal earlier in the season. The trouble with that is, if it doesn't succeed and the attacking player doesn't time his run correctly then the ball hits their first man and everyone automatically says 'shit corner'. Likewise in the 2nd half when he tried to change it a bit, there was one particular instance when he hit it to the back post, but every single attacking player ran to the near post, which indicated a clear lack of communication amongst the attacking players. The likes of Fadz, Thomas and Winks should be making different runs to different areas, not running to the same place. I still maintain that the poor movement by our players at attacking corners, is as much a problem as Eccles' poor delivery of them.
