My concern with Robins (10 Viewers)

So we sack arguably one of our top 3 managers of all time ?
And I'm deluded
Relegation would be completely disastrous for us given the money spent and the contracts we’ve handed out. Would you still stick with what we’ve got if it looks like we’re heading for relegation with a couple of months left?

I think it’s dangerous to get to a point where a manager is ‘unsackable’ due to past performance when the current performance is taking the club backwards. Not that we’re at that point yet of course.

It's clearly very, very different now than then. People need to stop wheeling out this excuse.

This time last year we had two of the best ever Championship players and a team fighting for every point.

Equally, we were actually pretty good in those early games. We battered Sunderland, Millwall and Hull at that time.

Two of the best Championship players ever? Wut? The highest we finished with both of them in the side was 6th

We won't be relegated.

All I will say is this as I can see where fans are going with it all .

Deeply frustrating as a fan that's been with the club almost all the way under Robins, watched us home and away missing minimal games to listen to fans completely lose faith in a man that's given us so much .

I'm so annoyed with some of the stuff Im reading honestly

Stick by the manager ffs

Exactly the point... Carried a lot of deadwood for years. Take them out and we collapse.

@fernandopartridge hammered me the other day for a slightly tongue in cheek post about his new saying being 'give it time' and he's basically on repeat again.

It literally is the new 'this is what we are up against' and 'we cannot compete with the wage budgets' that he's said for the past 5 years.

He's not necessarily wrong with either statements.
It's one game on, or another 2.17% of the season

Don't think it's a question of how long we give him, we stick with him for the season unless we are going down. We're 6 points clear at the moment so for all the gloom we still have a decent gap.

If we're in the bottom 3 at Christmas serious consideration would need to be taken but i don't think it will come to that, I think we will pick up enough points to just stay ahead of the pack.

The last time a manager kept saying “we’ve got great players” was Mickey Adams.

Robins sounds under pressure.

Just saying.

Robins learned his trade under Fergie.

Fergie always had a leader on the pitch, Roy Keane / Scholes etc.

Robins had Doyle then Hamer etc. we improved with Kelly last season.

We are one man short in the middle v
Hardly, he played most of his career under other managers and not under the successful version of Ferguson

Spoke to my older brother about this at the weekend. We've both been going since the 70s , in his case early 70s , myself late 70s. So we've both seen the highs and many lows .
Our fear was we've massively increased our fan base over recent seasons and many of those have only seen success , now this season we aren't in the mix at the top of the table how these fans would react

Great educated response

Well what do you want me to say Martin. I don’t think he moved the ball quickly enough or positively enough. You do. Shall we have this back and forth until we both die or shall we we agree to disagree and move on?

There will be some fall out from this. I’m not saying Robins will be gone but I don’t think Doug King will just sit on his hands.

My bet is that the recruitment team is changed to allow the new recruitment team to come in time before the January window.

If you think we created many opportunities then I dont know what to say

Wrights one on one, yea. Anything else clear cut? Was there fuck
Wright had three chances. One he should have done much better with, but the keeper did well and then the ball in the box when he went with the wrong foot. If he let it come on to his right foot he could have side footed it in.

The one in the second half was very poor. You have to work the keeper there. It was a bad miss.
