Most shootings are in the Hood, the ones that get the bigger media attention are the outliers.

Of the top 10 cities for shootings 9 are Democrat controlled and have been for a lifetime. Or more.

Homicides in Chicago: A list of every victim | Chicago Sun-Times Here is the ongoing list for Chicago.

Trump is all bluster and I assume at least one of the charges will stick. And he will be in jail before the next elections.

The last shooting, well it seems everyone and his dog knew about this guy and nobody did anything. Care in the Community. But that is a common and seemingly unresolvable issue.
…it’s madness that they don’t just ban guns like any other modern and sane country.

Reports coming out that Israel has deliberately targeted an ambulance in Gaza in an air strike.
Israel have confirmed it. Early reports from Red Crescent, part if the International Red Cross, indicate they were instructed by Israel to move people from the hospital then when they did as instructed the convoy of ambulances was bombed.

A proper c**t move to deliberately target innocent people again. I get the bombing of air bases, weapons factories etc but just going at ambulances, schools etc. Pricks.

which is why Hamas build many of their key points/arsenals under schools & hospitals and use ambulances/school buses to transport weapons & fighters etc. Clear breach of Geneva convention. No-one obeying the "rules" in this disaster

Doesn't that just make them both as bad as each other?

Both sides are targeting innocent civilians.
It's not sides though, is it? One is what the west perceive a terrorist organisation and one is a nation state with free elections. The people of Gaza ≠ Hamas.

Yes, I did mean Hamas. Because that is the supposed enemy isn't it. It's supposed to be Israel against Hamas.

Hamas killed innocent civilians and now Israel is doing the same

The poor Palestinian people are stuck in the middle of it and are sitting ducks.

This is why we need the UN to get involved, free the Palestinian people, arrest the terrorists.

Said it before the extremists keeping Netanyahu in office are "controlling" this conflict and are a major reason Israel won't back off. They are those primarily behind the expansion into the West Bank.

Many are no different to the fundamentalist Muslims in that there's a belief that religious law so determine everything. Bit by bit successive Israeli govts have allowed these groups to increase their influence - not blocking the settlements, special exemptions from national laws, establishment of religious courts.
Tail wagging the dog. Seen it in certain Islamic countries where the "tail" takes over. Can argue seeing it in USA with the Republican party - bibles frequently being waved. Can certainly see it in Israel now.

It’s an EDM and completely pointless? Lots of MPs don’t sign them on principle.
Or don't sign them because they have none, or don't want to step out of line.

If you're an MP, and it's a critical issue like this, then what you do or don't say, matters, imho.

No EDMs don’t matter. They’re literal virtue signalling. Seems front bench has been told not to sign it anyway from what I’m seeing.

It’s really not a critical issue for a UK political aside maybe from those actively in defence in the government. It’s a foreign policy issue that’s being pumped hard by the govt to call lefties terrorists. Honestly I think staying well out is the best idea. The fact the discourse on this in this country is about ludicrous inconsequential shite like having a march or whatever shows how it’s not a critical issue at all.

If it's completely pointless then why wouldn't you just sign it anyway

See above. But as I say a large amount of MPs just don’t sign any as a matter of course. They are nothing but virtue signalling documents that can be used to beat you over the head later. All political drawback and no benefit.

One EDM is credited with being the catalyst that bought down the Callaghan administration

All of its bollocka pretend outrage on all sides more about domestic and personal issues than anything to do with Palestine.

I'm sorry, but that's simply not true. It's not pretend outrage, except to people who don't give a fuck about it.

In regard to Gaza, and what appears to be to many to be a serious war crime in progress, some on here care about it, some clearly don't. Similarly, some politicians care, some don't. One hundred children are dying every day in Gaza - in many people that's going to provoke real rather than faux outrage. Hence the protest marches.

Believing that what you think and feel is the same as what everyone else thinks and feels, is nonsensical.

This, "it doesn't matter what politicians say" line, is, I'm afraid, bollocks of the very highest order.

If it didn't matter what politicians said and did, or what they stood for or against, or ignored, then this thread would be dead as a doornail, and voting would be entirely pointless.

Maybe the latter is, in fairness, given where the current parties stand.

You mention Gaza an awful lot but not Israel - as for principles I’d take a look at the calibre of people who support this - some oddly have described Hamas as friends and openly backed the IRA

I don’t know where you live but I guess unless it’s in Hamas Sultanas back yard you won’t be voting labour as the other two Coventry MPs support the government

Savage as it sounds, is children dying due to conflict a new thing? Is it only now that it's fashionable and people can make content for their social media about it?

Are the kids in Africa not as fashionable?

I get that people care that kids are dying, just not why people are only so bothered when they get a coach laid on and some likes on social media / put a Palestine flag in their profile. Is it due to changing media where it's rammed down everybody throats as soon as they turn the TV on or open social media?
