Needs to transfer some of that confidence with and without the ball into his shooting now. Think he was in two minds when he passed poorly for Wright. Should have hit it at goal across the keeper. Any spill and Wright would have been there anyway.
Well…I think you’re right but is there a case to made that Wright should’ve gambled on committing to the far post?

Sheaf is outstanding. Eccles is not far behind and has progress to make. They would both be pushing for selection in most champ teams
we are nearly in the relegation zone with a midfield that is clearly lacking and we need to completely reinvest in that area.

Yet both are the best in the division. ok then…

We were in the relegation zone last October, did you think the same of Hamer and Gyok?
I don’t think he is the best in the division but they do have potential to be better and that’s what Robins has done every year with players

If they were, we certainly wouldn’t have squandered as many winning positions as we have and likewise, we would created more chances.

Both players benefitted from playing alongside Hamer last season. They have the joint responsibility of try to create and attack as Gus did.

I’m hoping they develop that but on what I’ve seen this season, midfield is a glaring area of weakness imo.
We've created the better chances in 13 games out of the 16 we've played

I don’t think we create many clear cut chances tbh.

Compared to last season, think of how many clear cut chances Hamer and Gyo fashioned?

For me, and I know this is subjective, but a lot of our chances are sorted by having a stronger midfield. It could be the case that COH comes back and makes a big difference as he gets more match fit.

But, more likely, we just miss a player that is ‘box office’ like Hamer.

Our best player again today. In a struggling team it is so impressive how well he has played this season.

Last season I said he was potentially better than Sheaf. I think it's time to drop the 'potentially'. That not a criticism of Sheaf, who I rate highly and who has been our second best player.

I know we'll continue to get the calls for Eccles to be dropped for Latibeaudiere and claims that Sakamoto has been better. That's the Sakamoto that can barely get a place in the team by the way.

Our problem area is not Eccles, Sheaf or even Kelly. It lies mainly with those ahead of them. We had three strikers today and all three missed good chances again. I can think of at least two each for Wright and Simms and one for Godden. I don't like picking on players but Simms has scored in one of his 17 appearances and the miss just before he was substituted was a very poor one.

I still stand by what I said earlier this season that there aren't many better number 6's in the league . He's improving all the time and becoming more progressive with his passing . He shouldn't be taking set pieces as that isn't his game but the rest of his game is as good as any in his position in the league

Certainly had a good game today-fair play to him. Hope he proves me and lots of others wrong going forward.

He does plenty going forward, especially for a holding midfielder. He set up Simms with great determination. It's not his fault Simms blasted it wide.

That and the chance Haji couldn’t reach at the far post in the first half could have meant two assists for him today!

Agree on this, I was expexcting Wright to slide in, but he stood a bit flat footed which made it look a worse pass than it was.
Think you’re being generous there. Eccles was caught in 2 minds wheather to pass or shoot-he did neither.

Bidwell was our best player by some margin and if we’d stuck with him fron the start we would be in a better position

I thought Bidwell was a relevation at left back, good quality game but Eccles was superb throughout and by far and away our man of the match
