Have had this conversation (sort of) with Calista in the City Unseen thread for the Brum game. Wright makes good space for himself and in training/warmup, he doesn't appear to look yet can place his shots all over the goal, corners, post etc. Yet the majority of his attempts during games are low and central, giving the goalkeeper the greatest chance of saving them. In the Brum game, I don't remember Ruddy having to stretch to tip one of his shots. The majority were straight at him. And in the games I've listened to or watched on TV (I don't go to games for health reasons), it's rare that he's struck the ball through his laces, preferring to sidefoot his shots, immediately reducing the power of the shot. And rather than shoot on his first touch, he takes a second (or third) and then places the ball centrally. Don't think I've seen him try to chip an advancing keeper either. So if I were the So'ton or Leeds keepers watching his game videos, it'd be easy to identify where he will go in 1-2-1s.
We know he's got the ability, he needs to trust in himself.
