Hamer wanted to go, we offered him a deal, he didn’t want to sign. Thats it. No disaster.
Just like O’Hare then.
The disaster was writing off 1/3 of a season by failing to either tie him down or sign a replacement.

Absolutely - I would hope that they have a clear idea now either way, and then act accordingly.Just like O’Hare then.

He’s not going to come back. There was more to the Hamer saga & believe it or not , IF they had granted him his asking salary , that was below what he is on in the prem , he would have stayed .
Have you ever heard of a player returning to his ex club , so often …… he loves/d it here .
Don’t believe the £15 mil Doug allegedly got for him as well , as he fucked that figure up !
He’s not going to come back.
He’ll just sign for Ipswich on their way upHe will be back at the CBS. When Sheff Utd get relegated and we have to play them next season.
Always think the new deal talk is almost irrelevant. Even if he had signed a new deal it would have likely had a clause in it if a Premier League club came in he could go. Even if we'd given him £25k a week, Sheff United are probably paying him £35k a week. This would have still been enough to turn his head. He was fantastic for us particularly in the last ten games, but we sold him at his absolute peak value for me and in years to come people will probably see this. There was more to the Hamer saga & believe it or not , IF they had granted him his asking salary , that was below what he is on in the prem , he would have stayed .

There isn't a chance he is on less in the prem than he wanted here. There was more to the Hamer saga & believe it or not , IF they had granted him his asking salary , that was below what he is on in the prem , he would have stayed .

What do you believe King got for him then ?
There isn't a chance he is on less in the prem than he wanted here.
Misread it however clearly he wouldn't have stayed if he was offered premier league football and a higher salary anyway. That’s not what that post said.
I believe the club tried to resign him and Hamer strung the club along until a suitable offer came in for him. What do you believe King got for him then ?

The fee was reported by many different media outlets and I have no reason to believe that those media outlets are less accurate than a poster on SBT.

Certain people just don’t want to believe this. Left us little high and dry with 2 weeks left in August.I believe the club tried to resign him and Hamer strung the club along until a suitable offer came in for him.

Why was Hamer is disaster, the club has a wage structure we can't afford to pay players 20k plus a week. With the continuing saga of Callum O’Hare’s contract, surely we can’t lose him , or in Doug Kings limited football knowledge , with the Hamer fuck up , just pay him his worth .
We’re lucky that his major injury has seen him come back & be a revelation, so please Doug , with the money you’ve stashed away , give us all a massive Christmas present & learn from your Hamer disaster !

They won’t pay him £30k…. But he might get a signing on bonus !If they want to keep COH they will need to go nearer the 30k to be top earner.
Match Wrights wage and if he doesn’t want it fuck him off in Jan and bring Twine in.
Think he’s most likely to be sold in jan if he won’t sign a contractId even offer a clause for him to leave summer 2025 for sensible fee (£5m) if we don’t get promoted/Prem club comes knocking
Think he’s most likely to be sold in jan if he won’t sign a contract
Depends what fee though, and what contribution is. Robins was able to keep Rose when a cash offer was made for him, and was allowed to keep Gyokeres when they all knew there was the risk of his contract running down and being harder to sell in the summer than January.Agreed, I think King is a businessman before anything else and he won't let an asset like O'Hare leave for nothing even if it means a reduced fee.

Any football chairman clearly likes a risk(!) and unless it's a fat fee, the risk might be that O'Hare earns us more than any transfer fee can bring us.
Rose claimed we were offered £750k. Personally I can't see that as being right at all, and us keeping him(!) but that would suggest we'd need a lot more than £1mil for O'Hare!Yeah fair point. Guess it depends whether King thinks we have a chance of play offs this year!
Slightly different scenario perhaps in terms of the value of Rose Vs O'Hare (purely money wise) I think if we are offered 7 figures he will go personally.
