The fact that Black60sprey called a Coventry City FA Cup match a 'non event' speaks volumes for the problem our football team faces. You ought to be ashamed to talk of 'your' team in that way. What kind of 27 seasons long support is that? What kind of hope do Coventry City FC have with that kind of talk? I just wonder how many on here are actually going to the game. I'm very critical of our so called supporters and the way they don't turn up - they are a major part of the problem.

After seeing more abysmal games of football (and an average of about 25 City games per year for 27 years means I've seen quite a few) than I think I deserve I am giving this game a wide berth. Yes, you can say its a problem with the club if you like but we are in league 1 and playing as poorly as ever IMO and I've got better things to do than go to this game. Does this mean I should be hung in the city centre and am a crap supporter? According to you yes but I'm sure I will have been to plenty of matches where you were no where to be seen but to criticise people for going to a game or not is pretty pointless.

Osprey, I've missed 3 City home games since 1959 and go to many, many away games. Yes in this instance (with respect, you are a decent bloke I'm sure) you are a crap supporter. You're letting your team down. As I'm sure many others will today. Yep I'll criticise absent fans wherever they are. They don't like to be reminded, but they moan about the team but don't support them. But they fail to see any connection. Enjoy your afternoon off.

As a fan am I allowed to miss games? No. As a fan can I boo a lack of effort on the pitch? No. As a fan can I protest against the owners? No. What exactly can I do to show my dissatisfaction at the direction the club is heading? Im not some 18th cockney shoe black who knows his place and does what he's told by his social betters. We live in a free market society where if were unhappy with the rubbish product we dont have to accept it.

Also you state you have being going since 1959, you were the for the rise through the leagues, European football, two trips to Wembley etc. I have been going since 1994, the best seasons I have seen can be described as ok at best.

I think you shouldn't judge other people on your own experience of supporting city.

Coundon, you seem to see your team as 'a product.' Surely not?
Did I ask anyone to roll over for SISU? Don't think so. But they don't play on the pitch. I probably dislike them as much as anybody. Though they seem to be making more of an effort to turn things around lately.
Shoe blacks? What's all that about?
It would be lovely if the empty seats at the Ricoh were full of loyal passionate fans, but it seems they've all got other things to do.
Hey, I've suffered as much City disappointment as anyone. 1964 and 1967 and 1987 are a long time ago. Shrewsbury last month still bugs me.
For a team to do really well they need passionate fans, but we have lukewarm fans. They don't seem to see the connection between a strong support and a better team. Until the penny drops we'll struggle.
When the day comes when I see my team as a 'product,' well, Hell will freeze over. Come on you guys, stop making excuses and support your team.

Snoz whether you like it or not football is a business these days. Football supporters are treated as customers, therefore when the product deteriorates the club shouldn't be surprised when the customers stop buying.

I happen to think that clubs with the most supporters will do the best. I.e. There is a correlation between attendances & league position. However using this correlation the city supporters have outperformed the team every season since 2000.

Surely the 3rd best supported team in the division can give its fans better than 4th bottom?

Come on, Snoz - as if you can expect that level of dedication from everyone...admire you for being such a die-hard, but I am happy in my support of the City and I average 10-15 games a year

I'm going to be honest. I just cannot be bothered to go today. Gonna watch Man Utd vs Arsenal and then go for a walk! Going to the game midweek and next weekend anyway.

Jesus, 50 odd years and only missed 3 home games? You're even madder than me. Its not often I find someone more insane than me. I'm outside the ground now doing some shopping and it seems a bit odd not to be going but I'm seriously fed up with it so a day will do me good I reckon. Enjoy it and I'm sure...ish that we'll win.

Bring on the Arlesey, I love playing teams like this and I hope they make a game of it, a few ex-league players so should be good, they are expecting 600-1000 so good luck to them.

Man's a genius then. Still manages to provide live commentary at the Ricoh all the way from Calcutta. Top man.
