World history is absolutely littered with hypocrisyEvery geopolitical action is hypocrisy if you go back far enough.
What a stupid fucking comment.

Pretty sure posters have suggested it involves Ukraine retaking Crimea.Which will never happen and no one on here really has ever answered the question - what does a Ukraine victory now look like

I suppose the hope is to get this far has drained enough resources that Russia would need to regroup before going anywhere else, and that could well take longer than when they walzed into Crimea virtually unopposed.
The West did back them and the counter-offensive was a failure. It’s definitely going to have impacted perceptions of Ukraine’s chance to win. You're right they would absolutely need a few years to regroup, rearm and retrain.
The issue now is that they are in a war economy with huge spending on arms and ammunition. Everyone else in Europe is way behind on this.
The West had the chance to back Ukraine to win this war. They decided not to. Who knows what the consequences will be now. Thanks Donald.
Careful, you’ll be labelled as backing Putin next.Seems to me that Putin has played this all very cleverly. He has just kept throwing bodies at it, knowing that one day the financial aid to Ukraine will curtail.
Absolutely awful and cynical of course, as he puts zero value on Russian lives, but I think he knew support for Ukraine would wane as time wore on.
I do think an agreement needs to be made and concessions too, but I don't think Putin would have any intention of honouring such an agreement. At first maybe, but he is simply not to be trusted on any level whatsoever.

They didn't give them what they need, obviously.
The chance was there to win the war for Ukraine.
A Russian strategy as old as time , with the west's recent track record of backing the wrong horse over and over .. I doubt putin will care what the west want on this oneSeems to me that Putin has played this all very cleverly. They would never have won it - the sheer strength of numbers in a ground combat war was always favouring Russia
Especially considering Russia’s alliances.A Russian strategy as old as time , with the west's recent track record of backing the wrong horse over and over .. I doubt putin will care what the west want on this one .
Ukrainian POWs executed in Avdiivka. You can definitely trust the Russians in a peace deal.
Pretty sure they did far worse than that to them in Iraq. The US made POW in Iraq parade like dogs on all fours on leads. They imprisoned people without charge in G Bay - they waterboard and torture - they electric shock peoples genitals and rub barbed wire over them.
Ok is it?

They would have done if they got what they needed.
You don't have a clue what you're talking about. You said it would be over in 2 days.
Btw , some of us stated very early on this was a war Ukraine could never win .
And they still cannot win
Where have I said that's ok?
Please show me.
And you accuse others of being binary. Good vs bad.
Because oddly big countries in war do nasty wasty things but I doubt you’ve ever made a post condemning such acts by the US
With respect you said that in early 2022 as Russia made advances.
Then disappeared for months as Russia retreated.
And reappeared when they make advances again
Ukraine absolutely could have won the war.
To be honest , I've genuinley not been thinking about this war , hence why I've not commented .
I've always stated Ukraine cannot win , you on the other hand along with others convinced yourself they could , not being disrespectful I think that's true isn't it ?
Alright mr binary.
The only way they’d have won was with Western troops on the ground. With respect you said that in early 2022 as Russia made advances.

That chance has probably gone now, but they could have done, without doubt. They needed planes and more shells, and they could have done it. They had the momentum, Russia were retreating, they were a shambles. No doubt Ukraine could have done it with the right backing.
Based on hope more than reality tbhThey absolutely could have won the war.

With respect you've said you've not been thinking about this war. Which is fine, no issue with that of course. But with the right backing they could have pushed Russia back to their borders no doubt about it.
With respect I think he has a lot more experience of war than you or I
That's not what I said.
