My reply button is playing up for some reason. Hands up if I'm wrong but pretty sure MR said King was in charge of recruitment now on two occasions. Sure some nerd on here will search out the exact words to prove this one way or another. Sometimes (like all of us) I get things wrong, but don't deal in wind ups or conspiracy theories. What's the point?
That's the difference in recruitment between us and Sunderland.
They got rid of Mowbray because they want a coach who chooses the side but doesn't get a say in who comes to the club. Mowbray isn't a yes man and kept on about needing quality up front. Those in charge just want young players who can rise in value. Then they sell the players who are worth money and don't put it back into the side. Their new owner paid for the club using their parachute payments.
Then we have King. Used money from elsewhere to take over from SISU. The money coming in from sales mainly goes back into the squad. Robins decides which players he wants and King does the deals. Can't see King selling the players without talking to Robins. Any offers for players would go through King and not Robins.
When Robins came back it was under the understanding that he would make every call and they kept out of everything. So yes he has less say now but he still has a massive say. Otherwise King is very good at choosing players.
