Strange how referees don't seem to care about keepers coming off the line before the penalty is struck anymore. They were really fussy about it last season.

The double coin toss for penalty shootouts is completely unfair. If you win the toss you should get to choose ends or whether to go first, not have the chance to do both.

Totally. Fucked us at the play offs as well. Why give a team double advantage? At that point fuck the penalties off and just do it by coin toss.

Well, that looks like that absolutely tiny, teeny weeny, miniscule, infinitesimally microscopic chance of appearing in the final at Wembley has gone now. 😂

Was dreaming of Blackburn, or Leicester, or Luton, or Southampton, or Forest, or Bournemouth at home.

Liverpool should dispatch the Saints with ease tonight, which just leaves Leicester and Forest pretty much.

Think that would be our only way we would have a chance of getting through.

Very slim chance now of getting a favourable draw.

Probably going to be Man City away and an 8 nil whitewash.

We would then have to hope they took their foot off the pedal for the remaining 75 mins of the game and went easy on us.

Boils my piss. It completely fucked us at Wembley as well. I read that a team taking the first pen wins 60% of shoot outs, so to then add in the further advantage of shooting towards your own fans is a joke.

One coin toss, and you get to choose the end or the order they are taken. What possible justification is there to do anything else?

I don’t think that cyborg up front knows the meaning of ‘going easy’. Home tie with a packed ground in a one off game, you never know.

Tbf saints have a chance tonight. Liverpool picked up two more injuries on Sunday and had to play 120 mins with that they had. Of course you would still back them but i expect a very youthful line up from them tonight.

Blackburn played really well last night and if just a little less wasteful in front of goal could have won fairly comfortably, for long periods Newcastle looked like the Championship team.
We will definitely be up against it, but with a big crowd behind us at home & few players back in the team after injury, no reason we can’t give anyone (Liverpool, Man City aside ) a good game.

Thought Szmodics was a real handful and due to current ownership will probably be on the market soon!
