Tax going up on the lowest paid in this budget (because tax thresholds remain frozen) what will Labour do about that? Answer, vote it through unopposed.
Proposed Capital Gains Tax cut, benefitting primarily people and landlords with two homes... Labour will likely wave that through too.
Labour's solution to improve public services whilst cutting taxes (and public investment)?
Economic growth. No suggestion where that can come from though. Magical thinking at it's very finest.
There isn't a fag paper between Labour and the Tories on the economy, so expecting any change in the state of the country after the election is a fool's game.
To paraphrase Kinnock, try not to fall ill or get old, or be young and poor - because you're on your own no matter who gets in next. Grim.

They’ve given up mate. Just about reducing Labours budget at this point and forcing them to raise taxes so they can go “see they raised taxes”. Meanwhile people go to the wall.

Labour would do well to keep her out of the limelight, or it will become obvious what the party has turned into.

Unless getting people off the sick will drive the sort of growth needed to reverse the last 14 years but I think we all know the answer to that.

Inspirational = risky. Inspirational to you is costly or stupid to someone else. Rightly or wrongly they’re in total safety mode. No spending commitments they can be hung on no arguing no falling into Tory traps.
The time to energise the base has passed. What will lose it for them isn’t being too boring it’s giving the old attach lines a chance to reappear.
You honestly can’t judge until we get a manifesto and likely not until govt if they keep the safety up (manifestos are generally just promises you might be done for later so it’s smart to keep them small).

No one is going to stick to fiscal rules. It’s political theatre on both sides. Sticking to them means nothing but a soundbite to stop people asking about “where’s the money coming from” endlessly for every policy announcement (which Labour have to do but the Tories don’t).
This is a tale as old as time and what Labour need to do to get elected in this country: promise not to raise taxes, promise not to spend money, promise not to allow benefit scrounging. Because that’s the median view of what Labour do. So you focus on the reasons people aren’t voting for you. And so far it’s looking like working at getting a record landslide victory.

The average voter doesn't seem very happy with what the Tories are doing to the country and public services.
They don't seem too fussed about either tuppence off NI or a decrease in CGT.
It seems that in fact it's the cost of living and the running down of public services that matter. 2p off NI isn't going to help with the former and Labour have literally no plan on how to resolve the latter other than to stick to the Tory plan but magically promise more growth.
When the Labour get into power, which they will, and the average voter realises that Labour are simply offering more of the same, where do you think politics will go?
