I was so tempted to bang on the wall of my next door neighbour (he's a Wolves fan)

Decided that a massive "whoooooooooooooo hoooooooooo" with my faced pressed against the wallpaper was more than sufficient.
My neighbour is a Sppurs fan and said to me yesterday we were going to win 3 - 2. He wants Spurs to sign O'Hare though.

Imagine that being your first thought after such a day. Strange

But he was absolutely phenomenal today. Won everything. To a man they were fantastic
No, not strange at all and most certainly not my first thought. It was about my 7th or 8th after jubilation, relief, pride, that if feeling overwhelmed, taking it all in, thinking MR got it absolutely spot on and how well everyone played etc.

After that I then thought back to your ridiculous comment.

Hopefully lesson learned and you won't come to such early conclusions next time and will give any new players a proper chance.

Clubs will be jealous of us today, only the 2nd time in our history it’s no mean feat. Let’s keep knocking on the door over the next few years we will get there.

From the Wolves forum:

“It was their cup final. It wasn’t ours by any stretch of the imagination and it showed”

another cup final won! Only 90 minutes from a real cup final.
Hate that “their cup final” talk.

I’ve heard all week about how important this game is to wolves fans and a real chance to win something/trip to Wembley. Sometimes you just have to give a team credit, we played out of our skins today and refused to give up, and it got us over the line.

Talking like we’re plucky little Maidstone town.

Man City are a small club with plastic fans who play boring football. Real Madrid will tear them a new one. If we get them we should leave our foot in every challenge and wind them up and make it physical and ugly and chant Englund as often as we can as they have too many foreigners.
But we've done the same with an international squad?

They played their best team, we played ours and were better overall on the day. They can point to missing some strikers, they were still fine enough to win a PL game last week and knock out Brighton.

Got their goalkeeper to thank for it not being an embarrassment.

Exactly this. We had the better chances and we’re actually quite wasteful.

Their first came from a mistake from Lati and their 2nd was class play from them.

I am surprised at just how easily we created chances against Wolves - we could have easily had 5-6 today. It wasn’t a Maidstone-esque fluke.

Sometimes against good teams the best form of defence is attack.. that's why I can never understand why every team just let's man city play infront of them and act surprised when they get dicked 5 nil .. like they used to baracelona .

I get it the quality is there and they can destroy you .. but have a go

I had a look at the Liverpool fans forum because I got excited that we might play them next and wanted to see what they thought .. this post was interesting View attachment 34575
Yeah, can’t disagree at all. We consistently played through their press, and when we attacked we consistently had 4 or 5 up in advanced positions.

We were just so switched on today, can tell everyone was up for it. Obviously can’t expect it every game but shows we have several big game players who don’t fold under the pressure and actually rise to it. Most teams heads would’ve gone down at 2-1 in the 90th min.

Absolutely worth it
Correct.
My usual thoughtfulness before I post wasn't followed.

Still, seems silly to book players not in the game, even dumber to use the card system against managers/assistants too. Don't want to derail our fantastic win any further though with that aside. Sorry all!

Palmer carded in 100th minute after already subbed???? (Someone mentioned entering field of play without bib? Celebration?)

I like Kasey, a lot. BUT stop getting booked unnecessarily.
But if anyone gambles, always worth 5£ for Palmer to get booked for non-foul reasons.
It's not as good as kastaneer getting booked for body slamming a player when he's warming up. Loved that

I like Gary O'Neill, but this quote stinks of sour grapes:

"Coventry were able to capitalise on the fact they played us on a day when we were miles below our best with loads of players missing, and we weren’t able to get it done"
To be fair, there's an element of truth there. They were missing 3-4 players who would normally start including two really good strikers. And they likely were miles below their best.
