He was given a budget by SISU and has managed to keep within that budget, and is still managing to do so. Whatever SISU might lead us to believe otherwise, I am pretty convinced this budget allowed for players like Keogh to leave and for Cranie not to sign a new contract. Only Bigi's transfer was not included, but most of this went on upgrading the Academy.

hmmm

I think it's fair to say he is the best manager we have had since Jimmy Hill, which goes to show some of the problems we have had with managers since then!

Seems like somone did say it.

I stand by that statement, as nothing happened after I made it for me to change my mind, his sacking was bizarre to say the least.

But I'm curious about why you're reviving this long-dead thread?

I can only think that now AT has gone, your main occupation on this board of bashing him requires you to rake over the past rather than to concentrate on the future.

He's done it to contradict Dongo.

CJ, if it is a game of finding ridiculous comments made by people.

You could find the one from the other day, where grendel states no manager in the 'world', no less could get this squad of players promoted.

So that rules out your Alex Fergusons, the special one etc....

We all make slightly over the top comments every now and then to make our point.

However most of us don't need to keep cherping back to other peoples comments when you are losing a debate. Hey sick boy. You probably need to start coming up with something better than ' you once made a comment about AT and west ham'

I have probably mentioned it 3 or 4 times, it still makes me chuckle and it seems to get a response from you. ;)

Cant argue with that.

However I would say you may have mentioned it 7 or 8 times.

Also in my defence I did hold my hands up at the time and say ok that was a bit ott.

But yes you did just get a bite :)

It was raised as someone on another post stated that no-one said that and it was a gross exageration.

Clearly it wasn't :facepalm::facepalm:

Mind you CJ wants King to play for England, despite the drawbacks of not being good enough or eligible.

He should be frickin eligible, due to the fact that he is English....

Not good enough...hmm probably not but it was a bit of a long-shot punt when England were going through an injury crisis. If Zaha can get called up from the Champ, and Boothroyd a few years ago, then why not the league's top scorer?

He was eligible but opted to play for Jamaica instead.

Zaha will probably be off to one of the top PL clubs next season, and King isn't even the top scorer in the Championship!

Nick, the rules are farcical - Zaha played for England last week but is still free to play for another country (Ivory Coast) if he chooses to!
