Amazing drive by Sainz, by rights he probably shouldn't even have been in the car this week, yet he was in total control. Maybe he should have his appendix out more often!

See Logan Sargeant has Albon's patched up chassis this weekend, and it's gone well. He crashed it in first practice. The reason? Pushing too hard? Contact with another driver, perhaps? Some kind of mechanic failure? Wouldn't be a big surprise in a car so heavily repaired....

Well, no. According to James Vowles, he simply didn't know where he was on track......

Watched a replay, simply put two wheels on the grass and lost it. Driver error

Yeah, from the clip I saw he went in too quick to one turn, which caused understeer into the next one.

Should add, reading his own comments on it, it's not quite as bad as Williams made it out to be. Vowles' press release made it sound like he didn't know what corner he was at, I think it's more a case that he just didn't realise where the track edge was. Still not great, though.

Forgot about the race this weekend with all the Wembley chat. Just watched the sprint quali highlights, well worth it if you haven't seen them. Rain causing chaos!

Can't say I'll be getting up at 4am to watch the sprint tomorrow though, even quail at 8 will be a stretch.

Well Lando completely fucked the start of that race up, tried fighting Hamilton just a bit too long. The race for 3rd was brilliant for the last few laps.

Adrian Newey's leaving Red Bull. Where does he go? Aston Martin have been trying to get him in. Ferrari maybe? He's always said his two regrets are he hasn't worked with Ferrari or Lewis. Now could be his only chance to scratch that itch.

Oh My God Wow GIF

Probably the most exciting news F1 fans could get. Just had a look and it's interesting that it's apparently down to the Horner situation, looks like a decision on principle with how that's been handled. Surely he goes to Ferrari for the reasons you've mentioned, and they fact they look well set as the 2nd best team atm.

It makes sense. New regulations in 2026 so a decent chance of Red Bull's dominance ending and him bringing the title back to Ferrari and retiring a hero to the Tifosi.

I heard a rumour a while ago about him going to Aston with Alson extending his contract. 2nd part of that has happened.

As he did design the valkyrie

But will be interesting to see where he goes. Maybe he will go to Audi.

The merry-go-round is in full swing, Hulkenburg signing with Sauber for next season ready for it becoming Audi in 2026. Means one of Bottas and Zhou needs to go.

Looks like Stroll Sr is looking to sell 25% of the Aston F1 team too. Probably means he keeps enough control to keep Junior in his seat while securing extra funds.

Confirmed Newey leaving Red Bull has to be a big loss. Result of the internal turmoil. Good as Verstappen is Newey has been the main influence in getting Red Bull back on top. Going to be a clamour for his services.

The bloke's on £15milion a year, he's 65 years old and he's going to start a new project with another team. He'll be 70 before his changes really hit home, that means he'll earn £75million by this time. Surely he's not going to have the same drive to do what he's done all his career so far?

With new regs for 2026 I'd imagine he's already being doing a lot of work for that already.Any new team going to give him all the resources he needs.

But he can't take that intellectual property from one employer to the next.

Only if he physically reproduces something already protected - ideas & concepts aren't generally considered intellectual property. 2 seasons back Aston Martin replicated many aspects of Mercedes previous season car and there was nothing to stop them. One of the main reasons Aston Martin improved last season was the arrival of 3 former Red Bull employees as senior employees - including the technical director

Exactly this. You can't really stop someone from taking an idea with them when they change teams. As an example, a lot of the concepts that Red Bull used to dominate the sport last time, were actually ideas Newey had originally conceived while he was at McLaren.

Trying to stream this at my mum's who has 10mb broadband is incredibly frustrating. Don't think I've seen a single full lap without it freezing.

Tell me about it even double that is massively frustrating, don't run anything else in the house either!

He had some real pace in that final stint. Put 7s into Max on the same tyres. Could make this season a bit more interesting.

Brilliant win from Lando

Them Mclaren upgrades look to have them almost level with Red Bull now whoch is fantastic

Lets hope Ferraris massive Imola upgrade is the same

Seeing someone (anyone!) beat Red Bull on genuine pace is great. He got lucky with the safety car but he was the fastest guy on track and it's been a while since someone's just driven away from Max.

I dont want to get too excited but all the noises coming from Mclaren are that they are almost as quick as Red Bull now.

Lets just hope Ferrari have the same impact on their upgrade (rumoured to be 3 to 4 tenths a lap increase) and we can hopefully have a close season
