Callum O'Hare (3 Viewers)

I think people underestimate how good COH is in the final third. Quick feet and brain to beat a man a slide a little damaging pass in. Not that many have that skill.
He adds something different to break up our predictability. We’ll miss him quite a lot.

Do you think he’s out the team because Robins is bitter he’s leaving then?

Personally I think that’s stupid and Robins has done far more over far longer to earn trust than O’Hare.
I'm not sure how your question relates to anything I said.

Agree. He causes chaos. He also wins the ball by picking pockets very high up the pitch - which I don't think he gets enough credit for. I think that particular skill is useful in the games where we dominate possession less, so perhaps the value isn't seen as often in a season where we're building from the back more and keeping the ball.

His through flick on Sunday created the chance for the winning goal that wasn't. That's the sort of opportunity we will miss. I am still optimistic he will be convinced to stay but perhaps I am delusional.

I've popped into this thread multiple times to defend Callum and I've never met the guy! Through watching him over the years, I think we all know him well enough that he just loves life. He loves football. The idea that he isn't motivated or doesn't care is absolute bollocks and I guess you're either clutching at straws because you don't like that he's leaving, or you're just doing that classic football fan recency bias where you conclude recent form or events are related to the transfer saga.

It's stupid. He's leaving, he has been a terrific player for us over the years and it's sad that he is leaving. Let's focus on the games we have left and see what happens.
Done the same on this thread and couldn’t agree with you more.
Good luck Call,whatever you do.

He’s not even a starter. We’ll be fine.

You posted a ratings list which showed he had 4 MOM and palmer wasn’t in the top 15 was he?

Yet you said anytime they played together palmer was better than him

Clueless

That’s some lovely handhaving you’ve done to avoid literally the only point I made in that post which is that he’s not a starter so we are unlikely to be massively hit by him not being here. The team has adapted.

Your weird obsession with Palmer is between you and your therapist TBH. Leave me out of it.

The team hasn’t adapted at all. It’s obviously a better team with O Hare. You’re the one with an obsession not me.

You reply and react to literally every post I make about either O’Hare or Palmer, if someone on the O’Hare thread makes a comment that’s not “he’s the greatest player we’ve ever had” you burst into tears and start talking about Palmer.

But yeah, I’m the one with the obsession.

we’ve lost 3 of the last 5 league matches with palmer - not sure how that’s adapting

The fact is outside of the purple patch around New Year we’ve not had O’Hare as a key member of the first team for almost two seasons. Replacing him is nothing like replacing Vik and Gus last summer.

Sure. But we haven’t built our play around him like we did with Vik and Gus, because he’s not been available for most of the last two seasons.
Absolutely he’s one of our best players but doesn’t stand out
Can we replace Ohare sure
Can we replace Ohare sheaf and mve? Maybe in time but not hit the ground running

Why do we lose players with the best songs? Since his injury, Callum does not leave opponents floundering in midfield like he used to or tackle and win back the ball like he did before. He will be better at a higher level where teams rely more on ability than hardness and work rate.
He leaves us with some magic memories. Shame VAR cheated him of an even more legendary status.

To be fair he has 10 goals and 4 assists so 14 contributions in 33 games in all competitions this season.

He’s less effective elsewhere though. The point about him not tackling back like he did is fair.

Would I like him to stay? Yes.
Am I pretty sure he'll move on and we'll replace him with someone at least as good? Also yes.
