First transfer thread of the summer then

Whilst we aren’t name checked in the article there seems to be whispers we are in for him - Would break the mould of one of our normal signings

IF** it is us and we have outbid the biggest contract Preston have ever offered a player in their history, are they just skint or are we throwing money at it:unsure:

He’s fell out with Lowe by all accounts - might not be down to us outbidding them

Would be happy with this, pretty well rounded midfielder and plenty of experience.

I think all the whispers about him are from our fans on the other thread. Whilst he would undoubtedly give us some experience, he goes against our model over the last couple of years.
Robins already hinted at changing the model slightly this year

True. But over the last couple of years we've had McFadzean, Kelly and Godden with experience. We may not have any of those left so it wouldn't be totally surprising if we signed somebody with 400+ appearances at our level to add some experience.

I think he is everything we need, experience and quality, and free. Im sure we can offer him a decent whack

Yeah, only Plymouth, Rotherham & Sheffield Wednesday had a lower wage bill in the official club accounts.

There's always flaws as obviously it's 12 months behind, some were PL clubs, some were L1 etc. & it doesn't just cover playing staff but it's the only accurate figures you will get.

Fwiw, I expect we'll have seen a reasonably substantial increase to ours this year.

1.Leicester City £205.8m

2.Leeds £145.9m

3.Southampton £121.1m

Once set an exam question on Hobbes, Locke and Rousseau. Student wrote essay referring throughout to Hobbs, Lock and Roussau. My feedback read "You've been dropping to many E's"
I'm still scarred by a question in my History GCSE, which was 'Napoleon strutted around Europe, like a chicken on a dunghill. Discuss'. I loathe bad grammar; it immediately makes me (wrongly) judgmental of a person. Mispronunciation of words also messes with my head. Pacific for specific is a favourite!

This doesn't really show anything other than how incredible it was that we made the Play Off final last year with that wage budget.

I'm sure we're comfortably top half now with all the signings made.

We might see a few experienced championship players through the door , as Patterson was at Wembley watching us .
Useful players when “ fatigue “ cuts in ?
