Hmm

Implementing the ticket exchange is an excellent idea, but punishing people if they use it too much through no fault of their own seems a tad harsh. Midweek games for young families aren't the easiest.

As long as the ticket goes on the exchange and results in bums on seats, regardless who is in it surely would be the more common sense approach? Why go to the added step of then revoking tickets?

That's probably me done sadly with the likelihood of night games. My 5 year olds are an hour away aren't going to make 13/23.

Not complaining too much

Would making the night games a 7 pm kick off help ?

I know the TV are not going to listen to the fans, but it might help.

OOF there is going to be some monumental moaning about this one.

I get both sides of the argument. It is annoying the family zone often is showing as fully booked but obviously not in the stadium. but as you mentioned its hard planning trips when you have young kids, especially when the fixtures are moved around.

I have a 3-4 hour round trip for matches and its not really possible on school nights.

I reckon the rules set out are pretty fair really, missing more than 10 home games when you have paid is pretty bad . I hope the ticket exchange system is easy and they give you plenty of reminders as I'm sure people will get caught out

The more i look at this the more i get wound up

Who the fuck does Doug think he is sometimes? We're Coventry City not Barcelona. We sold out twice this season

The ticket exchange system, great idea, would of course put our 3 tickets on for games we cant attend

But to say 'ah well if you forget 3 times or you cant make 10' when no one knows how many (IF any) weekend games there will be is a fucking joke tbh

I agree they shouldn't revoke STs , but some people are so weird about kids staying up past 8 or 9 pm

There will always be midweek fixtures, always

hmm think i agree with all this.

I get it makes it difficult for smaller kids and the no doubt more evening games, but in reality we don't want a load of 5 year old's with season tickets who can only attend 5/10 games, they can surely be bought individual tickets when they can go...

Im saying this as someone with a 5 year old ST holder (not Family Zone) who has been to about 8 games this season, i was contemplating taking her to more games next season, and this has decided it!

Theres still too many people getting cheap tickets in the family zone and go without kids. They're trying to stop people abusing it that's all. I'm sure that if you live a couple of hours away and attend more often than not then they wont hammer you for it.

Doug is trying new ideas. Some go right some go wrong. On past evidence its clear he has no qualms righting wrongs and going back on ideas. I'd imagine this might be a case. He seems a very fair and just man in all honesty.

I'll just go and watch AFC Telford or Shrewsbury. Potentially 2 fans lost long term (obviously not me!)

They had such a cracking time at wembley too

I’m going to be pedantic here and point out that we sold out 4 times

I get that people are disappointed, but equally so it’s not fair that people have bagged themselves a cheap ticket which they then don’t use.

There are lots of families that could’ve made use of those cheap tickets

Shame, You could get them JSB memberships and just go to the games they can?

Actually on the JSB membership, They really need to make the ticket vouchers redeemable online.

Anyone not living locally is a bit screwed. I even went in and tried in the ticket office but was told staff are not allowed to sell for future matches on game days! mad. I did argue the toss and they did honor the voucher but its a crap system.

Probably something I need to bring up with the club to be honest

Is staying up once maybe twice a month until 11 going to mean something bad happens ?

Thing is with me, we're separated

Friday after school till the Monday drop off at school. Thats our time, and watching Coventry City together is a massive part of that

I cant have them midweek. I dont go up alone either, hence why we dont go midweek games.

If there are 10 or more midweek games for this EFL deal, Doug is saying 'you're banned'

Its a joke.

I'm not about to start questioning parental agreements but if the kids live in Coventry is it a problem once a month to get the mother to allow a game ?

Maybe the club should run a membership scheme for familys that choose their games. First come first serve basis rather than season tickets that gets you in the pot for every home game. That way the club know what tickets are spare for every game.

Let me get this right. If you buy a season ticket and don't go then you get 3 strikes and they take it off you. You also have to report when you're not going?
Is this only for the kids zone?!
No , they are revoking if you miss 10 matches

Chin up, there's always Wembley next season, 4pm kick off.

The club are asking fans to attend 14 home matches , keeping kids up once a month until an hour or 2 later than normal isn't going to make them fall asleep at their desk the next day after just the 8 or 9 hours of sleep ffs .
Why are you being so tetchy about it?

8 pm KO would mean id be lucky to get back home at 12. We do still go but my kid is visibly knackered in the morning. I get why people would choose not to

I'm not being touchy , I just have never understood why parents get so bothered about keeping a kid up a couple hours later than normal once here or there .. parent as you wish but kids generally have more energy than me and you

Even standard season tickets?! Or is it just kids zone?! Am I fuck reporting to them if I decide not to go.

Sounds like just the Family Zone.
Good question though, how would they find out if you weren't attending? Can't see stewards going round doing a head count

We had 10 midweek evening home games in the league this season by my count (a quick glance, may be wrong). The scheduling is going to be even more irregular this year. I’m glad it works out bringing your kids to the games, but there are plenty of legitimate reasons why it won’t work for other families.

It’s a demographic we should be encouraging to attend regularly, instead we’re putting more restrictions on them than anyone else in the building.

Check the scan on the tickets against the turnstiles
