Equally? I'd like to think the chances of a child being unwell and unable to go is greater than someone bringing in novichok.

I disagree. If your child is unwell 12 times a year, you should be spending your money on Bupa, not season tickets

The Family Zone prices are a bargain, the 10 game non attendance limit really isn't that unreasonable and probably won't be that harshly policed. I think it's just an attempt to stop people just taking up the free kids ticket on the off chance they 'might' use it rather than make it more difficult for families.

The resale system is a good idea as in the big games it will free up some much needed space.

You obviously still have your Doug vendetta which at this point is almost as pathetic as believing in chem trails. Get over it

no vendetta. he done some good things and hes done some not so good. why is he immune to criticism?

as for resale. it only works if it’s a sellout as I stated up. if it’s a deterrent then it’s a silly policy. only time will tell but he seems to be forgetting fans who have been on the journey before he arrived and will be here after him too

I'm not sure that many bought tickets just for points. I hear this about most away games. Why would you spend £37 and not go? Bit different to having a dirt cheap season ticket and not going. People are taking advantage of the cheapest season ticket in the League and not using it. That's not fair when the area is sold out. Why should others miss the opportunity for a cheaper ticket because of them?

You're right, it is difficult to go midweeks, hence why they are allowing a resale system. Some parents may allow their kids to go those games and will take advantage of a (hopefully) cheaper resale ticket.

The system was cheated and some people bought tickets and didn't use them. The alternative would be increasing the prices in the Family Zone and that's not right.

loads did. you could see that was the case because of how many empty seats at those games especially when the crowd was announced at 26,000, everyone just laughed at that

and majority of empty seats were behind the goal

but you don’t get money back so you just give the ticket to a friend which apparently is frowned upon by the club

That's not been announced yet.

I agree, it's poor if they don't because every other club gives some form of credit for exchanges.

It's a completely different scenario to that in the Family Zone.

It was half empty against QPR and the South Stand was full. People bought a ticket for £250 and haven't used it half the time because it's cheap enough to not bother going. That's fine if it's not an area in the ground that's sold out.

Going round in circles but if that’s the price set and families buy, what’s the issue? same if someone buys a matchday ticket and doesn’t go. the club have got money which was set by the club so the club have generated revenue.

not long back we moaned we didn’t sell enough season tickets. now we sell them people moan they don’t attend every game.

a fairer way would be. 50 points on purchase of a season ticket then 10 points for every game attended with that season ticket. better incentive imo

Family zone tickets are essentially discounted to allow parents and kids to attend that otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it and to encourage younger generations to go which is an investment in the club’s future. That point is defeated if people buy them and use them less than half the time.

The points idea is decent though. Although maybe add 230 and take 10 off every game you miss.

Because the Family Zone is the highest demand area in the ground. The rest of the ground does not sell out.

It's about filling seats and making more money on seats that have been empty all season. This isn't a one off like the Ipswich and Hull games previously mentioned. There's seats in the FZ that have not been used all season.

better incentive like I said further up would be points per game basis on top of 50 points for season ticket

If someone wants to attend only 50% of our home games, it likely works out cheaper to buy a season ticket - plus it’s more convenient, and confers more status etc. Why wouldn’t someone buy a ST in that situation?
Because they’re taking the place of someone who would attend more. Remember, this is only for the FZ where demand is high.

But why is it incumbent on the customer to pay more and/or inconvenience themselves just to help out total strangers?

The problem isn’t with the customers, it’s with the pricing and the availability. At least one of them needs to be tweaked - I hope it’s the latter; I expect it will be the former.

Demand is high because it's down to a couple of blocks now.

Plus last year a lot of people missed out sitting in there because it was sold out before the finance option was sorted.

I'd like to clear up the banning situation please if anyone can help. I dont want to go over old arguments but my situation:

5 year old twins
75 mile drive away
Managed 17 games last season myself
Boys did 8. Missed all evenings, about 3 through holidays and 2 through illness/injury

They are getting hooked and hoping to hit a few more this season and by the time they are about 8 it will be close to ever present!

Think it will therefore be touch and go whether they hit the 13 this season.

So if they say hit 12 each and I do 19 will it be two seasons long bans or will I also be banned in 25-26?

Not that it matters but I should add we bought 7 shirts between us last year. Keen to keep them and hooked and on the journey

exactly this. just because others are not in your situation they are very short sighted in other families situations

purchasing your Season ticket should be enough to show your intentions instead of being pressured into attending every game as a family

This is similar to my situation. Didn't have a season ticket last year, but my daughter is keen to go more. Problem is the weekday games mostly, but she's also autistic so I just don't know how she's going to be on any given day, so might not cope with a 200 mile round trip and busy stadium every single weekend game. If she decides she's not in the mood on the day she'll just outright refuse to go. If I'm going to have my ticket cancelled too (I'd still go regardless) it's a big risk.

Chances are, depending on number of weekends games, we'd probably do enough but it's just not predictable.

I think in these scenarios a quick chat to the club would clear it up. For me trying to stamp out abuse of cheap tickets meant for families is absolutely worth a little bit of pain but I'm sure if real families reached out and agreement could be reached.

You may think you’re a dedicated family of fans, but if you’re planning on sitting in the Family Zone then the club (and various people on here) would actually prefer you just get out of the way.

why should someone have to contact the club about their situation? it’s a season ticket purchased. once purchased should be used as and when pleased not bullied by the club or fans

Seems it's only a subscription,to be amended at the provider's discretion?

Fair enough. All rosy when we are doing well but they might want these 2 fans back in 15 years if we struggle again....or when all the oldies have stopped going/passed on

That’s fine. Put them on the exchange.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect season ticket holders to attend 50% of games
If someone decides to buy a season ticket it is nobody's business how many matches they go to. I really hope the club doesn't take such an arrogant approach to it's key customers.

To play devils advocate if King made all season tickets in the ground £100 and they sold out immediately but only 25% of people turned up every week because they now perceived it to be low value and fine to skip multiple games given the price they've paid would you view it the same?

I'd question the pricing strategy (which I do in the FZ for which I benefit)

When the supply is limited and at a hugely discounted rate, I would say it is the clubs business

Quick search online shows similar rules at other clubs. Lots do offer an ability to upgrade the ticket to an adult up to 3-5 times a season. I don't think we have this formally in place?

QPR:

"If the seat is not used or made available to the QPR Box Office for a further three consecutive matches, the Kids U8 Season Ticket may be cancelled."

Stoke:
"If for any reason the [Under 15/Under 11] cannot attend, tickets must be exchanged at the ticket office at least 2 hours prior to kick off, subject to any additional payment if applicable and an administration fee of £2 per ticket.]"
