But when it applies to a limited area which is heavily discounted - are they key customers? Or are they benefiting from a goodwill gesture from the club?
For instance if my wife and I bought family zone tickets and two for under 14 relatives (with hardly any intention of taking to them) we would save ourselves £360.
The club is doing the right thing to try and encourage families and some that may not have a lot of money. But unfortunately there are people abusing it.
We all miss games holidays, illness or unforseen circumstances. Often my holidays are booked before the fixtures are announced.
What I would like to see is this tweak for the family zone. Once the fixtures are published, ANY game moved during the season from the original schedule due to TV scheduling from a Saturday to an evening game should not count as one of the ten games you are allowed to exchange on. So anything originally scheduled for a Saturday and later moved should not count as part of the ten allowed exchanges. Obviously people should still be encouraged to exchange if they can't attend, but it just won't count as one of their ten allowed exchanges).

OK just to clarify I am talking about general season tickets not family zone. Maybe I should keep off this thread.

One issue for many is. if a child can’t go, does that the adult who is assigned with that child can’t go aswell?

Are you ever going to spout anything other than an incredible amount of arse gravy? The ticket is cheaper than it should be. It's in demand. People who take them up get that privilege, don't use that privilege lose it. It's honestly pretty simple.

you need to cut down on the Sunday drinking. the club set the price. families take it up. fixtures come out. Some can’t make it.

That is a very good question. The adult ticket is sold at that price “when accompanied by a junior”.
Logically then, if the junior is not attending then either the adult should not attend, or the adult should pay an additional fee to match the standard zone price per game.

I’m curious as to why you think the club’s ticketing policy should accommodate your choice to live hundreds of miles away?
If you never had any intention of going to every game, why do you think you should get priority over a local family that can attend every game?

Even for local families I would assume evening games are a problem, particularly for the under 14 category.

Listened to the CWR interview: the policy is now that we have to make 8 games together otherwise we can't renew. Put it on the exchange if we can't make it. If my son can't make it I can't use my ticket on my own in the FZ and have to get a ticket elsewhere in the stadium for that game. Seems a much more reasonable approach in my view

That does clear it up and make more sense if the adult can't use it either. However, when it says get a ticket elsewhere do they have to pay the full cost or just the difference?
I assume the club are going to have some sort of waiting list to offer released FZ tickets to as well.

as above, 8 game limit now and you cant use your FZ ticket on your own. I really think these rules have been put in to try and stop chancers buying tickets for themselves with no intention of bringing kids rather than punish families. I'm sure they will be sensible with the policing, totally understandable they want to stop the piss takers

My sense was that I'll have to buy a full-price ticket elsewhere if I go without my son - presumably if my FZ ticket sells I'll get something back though that doesn't appear to be covered in the newly-released Ts and Cs ?
I guess they probably should yes or pay a premium. It is obviously being abused given a third of seats were empty, not one or two but a third. Would you prefer the club just put the price up for the adult ticket to the same around the ground? I'd have killed for this level of affordability when I was a kid when even JSB was more than the £50 they are charging for kids.

They would need to limit the turnstiles that FZ tickets can be used at and basically have armed guards monitoring those entering. Doug has said they intend to be robust, perhaps not to that exit though

Hard to do these things without upsetting people, sometimes with justification, but sadly too many people have taken the piss for too long

Can’t see them enforcing adult with no kid in FZ in reality. It’s a bit like the singers corner from last year they may check initially but the stewards fundamentally ain’t got the time or effort to enforce it.
Most stewards are there to watch the game themselves and earn some pocket money.
Think theres a lot of tough talk to encourage people to buy at the correct price.

I honestly don't think they will sell many of the tickets that are handed back for midweek games anyway, I highly doubt we have thousands of kids waiting in the wings to go to a game at 7:45pm on Tuesday. With adults having to move too, I would be willing to bet that the FZ will look even emptier for the evening games than it did this season.
I would have just set the FZ adult at £400 and then a kid at £23. No adult would be getting a cheaper ticket then, but you still get to take the kids cheaply. My 6 year old and I have FZ tickets and I would rather have done that than having to mess about moving for every game that he can't attend
