After much thought yesterday trying to think of a new chant unique to us, here's what I came up with it

"Coventry City
Coventry City FC
We're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen"

Thoughts?

Perhaps when we're away, we could sing something about them being quiet, almost akin to a library. We could also suggest that their place isn't very nice and that we can't wait to get home.

I think Leeds still sing,
'We are the champions...
Champions of Europe '

No they weren't ever and utterly disgraced themselves on the one occasion they got to the EC final in Paris. Bad losers doesnt come close to their behaviour that night.

There was a young man from Japan
Who fell on his neck and it hurt
When asked if ok
He said ' I not sure'
But I having a week off or two.

Edit: Credit to Spike Mulligan (a lesser known poet)

To the tune of Only You by Yazoo...

Looking from the terrace above, it's like a story of love
Can you hear us
Come back every Saturday
Even when we're away
Want you near me
All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Sky Blue

The second verse is editable too

Version for the balcony bar ....

Looking from the stand up above, come and give me some love
Can you hear me?
Sit here every Saturday
You're all miles away
No one near me
All I needed was a smile and wave
But I only got that tool from King of Shave
Wish I was o-ver there too
Nearer you!

I'm sure there should be a song created to the tune of yellow submarine... Maybe a whimsical one about how every number on the pitch should be one player...

How about a song about Brad in the style of shakespeare?

Hark! Behold Brad Collins, keeper bold and fair,
In the net, where foes doth cast their snare,
Though balls oft slip from his grasp, 'tis true,
Butterfingers, yet our hearts stay true.

With valor he guards the goal, come what may,
Amidst the cheers and cries along the way,
For though his grip may falter in the fight,
We stand by Brad, in his glory bright.

Oh Brad Collins, a hero of the pitch,
Through ups and downs, we praise without a hitch,
In our exceedingly rare accent, we chant his name,
Butterfingers or not, he's won our acclaim!

Just out of interest, how is your user name pronounced? I tend to think of it as 'dodgy knees'.

Diogenes is famous for his meeting with Alexander the Great.. Alexander came to corinth and went to meet Diogenes, who he found resting in the sun. Rather than showing any interest in meeting the brilliant Alexander, Diogenes told him to get out the way as he was blocking the sun.

Alexander was impressed with his blunt honestly and said if I were not Alexander I would choose to be Diogenes. To which Diogenes replied, and if I were not Diogenes I would still wish to be Diogenes.

That story would have had a much better denouement if Alexander the Great had turned round and punched his throat in for being a dick.
