Err don't think so Skyblue Bangkok.
Granted it's not great but it's no worse than Coventry, believe me I lived up there for nearly 30 years until moving back closer to home last year to South Leicestershire to downsize and be closer to our children.

I have to say the one big advantage Stoke on Trent has over Coventry is the surrounding countryside, The Staffordshire Moorlands is outstanding, breathtakingly beautiful.

That alone is certainly a consideration for anyone thinking of signing for the clayheads and Manchester with its retail experience and vibrant nightlife is easily accessible from there too.

But don't take my word for it, go see for yourself, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Coventry city centre is a lot better than Hanley. I agree with you on the suburbs though, the northern side of SOT going up towards Leek seems quite nice having driven it a few times.

Given that Browne has spent the last decade in Preston I think both Stoke and Coventry represent significant upgrades.

But Warwickshire is one of the nicest counties in England in my opinion, more people visit Warwickshire than Staffordshire

Quite true Gynnsthetonic it is indeed a lovely county and I'm immensely proud to say I'm from Leafy Warwickshire.

Staffordshire however isn't a particularly well visited county (with the exception of Lichfield Wolverhampton Stafford and SoT) but once past Stoke to the North and West of Wolverhampton the grime of the Black Country and The Potteries makes way to arguably some of the best countryside equal to anywhere in England.

Anyone who has visited Alton Towers deep in the Staffordshire Moorlands right on the edge of The Peak District will verify. It just isn't a well known tourist area.

I'm sure he's not interested in which county is the most leafy.

Money talks, he's at an age where he's looking to get the best possible wages he can. That's where he will end up.

Who asked you fatso?

Gynnsthetonic and me are having a private conversation on a public forum and as there's no footie I thought we'd have a talk on geography stuff.

Just pulling your leg fatso, honest. 😏

None of that rarely matters. It’s money and club prospect/ league ambitions
Yeah, while debating provincial cities is fun, in reality very few players will actually live in them.

I still don’t understand how so many fans can’t grasp that a lot of players don’t actually move around the country with their families each time they move clubs.

Nixon reporting that the best offer he has had is from PNE and he is likely to stay sounds like we have made an offer but not matched theirs

Fair play to them if so but also says a lot about Doug in a way for me. Their best player is out of contract, they recognise he's a difference maker in their squad and offer him money accordingly

We, have offered Callum 18k a week when Simms and Wright are on 25. And wont go higher, and wonder why he then leaves.

No this isnt part of my 'vendetta' against Doug, its shows that even fucking Preston North End pay their best players accordingly, we dont/wont, and wonder why they never even entertain signing

COH isn’t on the same level as Wright or Simms and I don’t think he’s worth £25k per week.

It’s best to avoid overpaying players - stick to your evaluation of a player and move on if they don’t sign.

Wasn't part of the reason he was leav8ng down to contract length tho. Maybe we have offered a longer deal with less wages

He may well not be but considering he played half the games of others, and still scored 6 goals with 3 assists, id say he isnt 7grand a week less worth to us than them.

Anything at 20k will make him think (which is what he originally requested with hefty goal and assist bonuses) but we wont do it

It won’t make him think if a top flight club offers similar.

COH isn’t leaving because of his base salary not being the highest in the club. This is just at best wishful thinking and at worst deliberately misleading.

COH will get a huge signing on fee at his next club, probably earn £5k-£10k a week more than our highest earners and play at a higher level.

He hasn’t engaged to try and find a deal that works for him and the club because his agent has advised him it’s a waste of time relative to what he can secure elsewhere.

Of COH had turned up since February maybe our offer would have improved again, but he didn’t and we move on.

Doesn't want to play for their current manager from what I've heard.

Lack of ambition if he stays there. Said before that I think Sheff U would be interested and that’s where I can see him going.

Do you think another club will think he’s worth £25k a week?

It’s a good question

if you are going to get a free transfer of a player with O hares ability the player will be one of the highest earners in the squad

It’s irrelevant . He didn’t want to stay.

We all know how football business works ….

The player tells the fans via official interviews that he wants to stay thus putting pressure on the club.

If the club don’t meet his demands but he waIt’s to stay you start to see articles in the press suggesting a breakdown in talks and the player being forced to consider other options. Again applying more pressure on the club to meet the players needs.

Neither have occurred and my god COH has had enough opportunities to say he wanted to stay.

Assuming he moves up a level, whether that's Premier League, Spain or even Celtic, I doubt he'd be a top earner. Would obviously earn more than here though.

It’s entirely relevant but you talk total shite most of the time so I can’t be bothered wasting my energy discussing it

I meant with us to be fair. It’s a stupid comment to say he’s not worth as much as Simms and Wright as he clearly in the open market will be
