Transfer Rumour Alan Browne (6 Viewers)

He kept 2 cleansheets in 12 starts for them...
That's because they are a poor team hence they were in a relegation scrap, Fadz was brought I to help keep them up, and they/he achieved that.

As you pointed out, the fact that he made 12 starts at the back end of the season, proves my point exactly.
He's still performing even though he's 8 years older than Browne.

They were 8 points off the relegation zone at the end of the transfer window, finished 3 points above it.

Seems that Browne has asked not to be called up to national team, as doesn’t want to jeopardise a move - which suggests he’s leaving Preston I would say.
It suggests he needs to sign a new contract with someone - that could be Preston, or could be someone else.

If it was Preston surely he would have decided and signed. Of course it still could be them, but suggests to me he's leaving them.

Anyway thought was interesting to read, especially given lack of any decent transfer gossip!

He probably has an Alan Nixon type of exclusive to announce tomorrow in Basildon online

Don’t think you can read all that much into him not having decided yet.

Could argue he wouldn’t be needing a medical if he stayed at Preston.
If he were to pick up an acl injury or break a leg he would find any offers currently on the table from Preston or anyone else, would disappear very quickly.

Pulling out of an international game means all his options can remain open. So you cant read anything new into it.

Looking at his Instagram he’s about to get married so doubt he’s sorting anything out now in terms of football, probably why he is not with Ireland either.

If Robins and Adi are not at the very least invited to the evening do then I would say it’s off.

If he did his ACL there is no way on this earth Preston would rescind the offer. Especially to someone who’s played 300 games over 10 years or so

Course they fucking would.
Wake the fuck up!
They would block his agent’s number before he’d even woken up from the operation
Just like we did with Jodi Jones? There’s no way he wouldn’t get a new contract with Preston if he had an ACL injury.

Sunderland did it with Willis aswell. No club going has turfed a player off following an injury like that

Might be wrong but isn't that what happened with Reise Allassani. Ie. Was on the verge of a decent move, done his ACL and then pretty much didn't get paid for a year.

Those players were held with a view that they might have value once recovered. They’d probably provide the op and rehab him for free but no chance he’s getting paid millions on top

Nixon said last night that Sheff Utd are out of the race for him due to not have the funds around to afford him, as well as a number of others.

Also then said Preston offered big cash.

I don’t think Doug will sanction big wages for a 29 yo who’s unlikely to provide any resale value.
He can’t be massive wages. Doug you would hope also would understand we can’t sign a bunch of 22 year olds all with resale potential and no experience. Fadz and Kelly gone is the soul of our side for the last 5 years. We need experience which is so evident in games that we lack

He wouldn't be viewed as a resale, he would be viewed as a much needed player that would bring leadership and drive a standard that our young players need. Especially when trying to see out games his experience of championship football will be welcomed.

That value is worth a lot to this group. It may be a comparable wage but a longer contract to give him and family stability

If he comes here he will have. If he’s too expensive for a parachute club and Preston’s biggest ever earner I’ve got serious questions about whether we should be in for him.

Everyone is too expensive for Sheffield Utd, their owner has jacked it in.
