Rudoni was developed at AFC Wimbledon….. our chief scout, Jamie Johnson was brought in from AFC Wimbledon ….. it is fair to assume if anyone knows the players capability and potential it’s Johnson.
Johnson only did 6 months at Wimbledon & joined just as Rudoni was leaving.

Not saying Rudoni is great but we have learned not to take the words of a supporter of the a former team as gospel?

Swansea fans laughed when we paid a fee for Vik
Also have to take into account the standard bitter cope of 'he was never any good anyway'. Usually said while trying not to cry.

Watched the Huddersfield game online, but with the Huddersfield commentators, and even they weren't very complimentary of Rudoni.
If the fans, and commentators (who are normally more impartial) don't rate him, is he really that good ?

I don't get why this rumour keeps getting picked up amongst the fanbase. As far as I'm aware there's no link, he just happened to stand out amongst a shit Huddersfield team

They've just been relegated tbh , doubt they care much for any of their players

Fair. The forum thread on him from before they went down is similar. Goes between “he’s shite” and “he could be OK given time”. Just think we need better. Poor numbers, poor reviews from people who watch him each week, he’s a gamble and at £2m not a cheap one.

22 years old , great age to mould into your own player .. I'd wager they make him a much better player at coventry .. however im still not sure wether we are genuinley interested or not

Would have better players around him too. Granted, it's not overly exciting but it wouldn't be a terrible signing.

So have transfer fees just shot up recently or have we given up on the Sheaf/Vik/Hamer style signings at around £1m? Maybe my scale is just well off. Just feels now we’re paying loads for gambles whereas before we were paying peanuts for first teamers.

Gus had some of the best stats in Europe. Sheaf in L1. Vik while he’d had a poor year was the result of Brightons scouting and had a good history before them. Now we’re going after players relegated teams think are a bit shit for twice the price.

£4.5m for Kitching. Probably bollocks but the rumoured £5m for Sorba. These seem like insane fees to me. But maybe I’m out of touch.

Not sure on the clubs policy now with signings but we did sign gus 4 years ago and he also came from a relegated side I believe , as did sakamoto

But Saka was a fans favourite and as I say Gus has insane stats. Rudoni sounds more like a Tavares or whatever that might come good. Like I say maybe that’s the fees you pay these days but just crazy money for me for players who are yet to perform at any level.

Hamer was over 1m, 1.5m EUR was qouted at the time.

We were a relegation threatened club with a limited budget. Now we're promotion chasers with a bigger budget, obviously fees will rise.

Come on now I know you're down on this signing for some reason but it's nothing like Tavares. Rodrigues is more of a Tavares style punt if anything.

He’s a “might come good” “can fill a few positions”, all a bit uninspiring for £2m.

I suppose closer to a Latibeaudiere? Same age. But much more expensive.
