Why? Been there ten years and they’ve achieved nothing.

We are regulars at Wembley and are constantly progressing.
We didn’t progress last season. Why do we assume all players love Coventry and only sign to play elsewhere for the money?

Did I say that he loves Coventry? Or that I assume all players love Coventry? Said he lacks ambition, no doubt had plenty of good options better than Preston, not just us.

And no not in league position, but we did have a good cup run and off the field making good progress.

Personally, I would happily sacrifice Sheaf (not literally) to fund a DMF pairing of Browne and Stamenic.

The potential there is to surpass what we had with Hamer and Sheaf.

EDIT: that’ll teach me to read the previous page properly. Oh well, move on…Stamenic and Walsh it is. ☺️

Plenty of other options out there and why im glad the club don't get involved with doing business in public. They will be too many players to mention that will turn us down. Not a problem its football. Next....

Doesn’t sound good does it for PNE. Maybe there is a chance. Either way he won’t end up staying at Preston imo

@Saddlebrains is there still anything in this one?

We went cold due to Stamenic

But he's another who's been to Ryton, met MR and AV, was keen on the contract offer etc

But works both ways like it did with Stamenic, he fucked us off for a better offer, would you want to come if you were Browne knowing something better came along so we went cold on him?

Not as confident as I was, but we're still an option

Just out of interest, do you know anything about what his role would be in the squad? I was talking with @Balli001 earlier and I don’t know if people on here that want him to sign for us think that he’s a Sheaf replacement or that he’s a back-up for Sheaf?

With Stamenic I got the impression he would be starting weekly alongside Sheaf whereas with Browne I think it’s up in the air. So that begs the question is Browne a like-for-like Stamenic replacement or something else entirely? Just wondering what you think as I’m really not sure and I think it really matters what he would be for us if he signed.

A better, younger Liam Kelly replacement that should compliment Sheaf really well, but it's mainly for quality in competition

Sheaf is the main man we know that, and Eccles has improved massively.

Add a fully fit and full pre season Torp in, and a seasoned quality CM in Browne, then you would like to think that's enough in the 'engine room' as AV apparently refers to it as, while the flair players we have like Tats, Haji etc go and bag the goals

Yeah that makes sense tbf, and what do you make of the failed Stamenic transfer? Would he have been where Browne could potentially end up, as a Sheaf back-up?
I felt like Stamenic would have started, so either Torp or Eccles would have had to have been dropped. However with Browne I don’t think that’ll be the case somehow, so maybe we’re going down a different route? Or maybe I’m just thinking too much about it? 😂

Stamenic is a twat basically. Played the club like a fiddle, as I stated everything was done and he'd even visited the CBS, but hadn't signed on the dotted line.

I think he was so we could go 433 with him Sheaf Eccles/ Torp

Lucky escape then for me. We are better than that.

Clearly money there for the right midfielder , hope we really go for it still in that position.
