Hamer strung the club along and told people he’d be signing a new contract but had no intention to. That’s why he gets the digs from multiple posters on here.
O hares could read similar if fans wanted too let's be honest. Just look at the stamenic thread and his people turned on him. It's alla bout the narrative fans want

Example o hare dreamt of prem but once realised not happening he came back to table with cov and in end settled on richer championship team etc

Not that I believe the above but just saying all contract sagas can be twisted to be positive or negative

Its the absolute shithouse club he joined for me. But then we did get £15 million for our rebuild so good luck to him I suppose. I hope for his sake he leaves Sheffield Utd asap.

If he decides he wants to stay afterall, I would say its too late now. We have moved on and got his replacement. He can go and warm the bench elsewhere

That’s fair enough. Despite being so open and blunt about it, Vik handled it in the best way possible. Here’s hoping if he does go to Leeds we beat them in the PO final.

Id still be happy for COH to stay and we offload Palmer and let COH and Rudoni fight for No 10 but assuming he’s going and it does appear we have moved on.

We feel like such a proper club now, I like it.

“You don’t want to stay? Fine by us, bye” attitude. Love it.

How do we know? We may have signed Rudoni and told him contract offer is withdrawn
Rudoni's interview says that talks happened straight after the close if the season.
If rumours are true that there was an improved offer on the table recently for COH, it seems somebody thought there was room for both.

Eh? Lol

We still have a contract offer on the table don’t we? He’s the one rejecting us, not the other way round.

We are moving on whether he stays or goes. We have a higher objective than whether cal stays and we press on regardless. I like it. We’ve learnt from the Hamer situation where we hoped and waited for him to decide.

When did Hamer publicly say he was signing a new contract? What you are taking as gospel was simply hearsay from some posters on here, or did you also believe that he was intent to returning to Holland, which was also touted around at the time?

A lot of the posters who dig at Hamer on here are the same who wanted him sold a season earlier for £5m, and only begrudgingly accepted he was a decent player in the 2nd half of his final season with us.

If you slag Hamer off for how he handled leaving the club then really you should do the same for O'Hare. Although I don't agree with them, there are posters on here who believe O'Hare downed tools last season. Was that better than your perceived views of Hamer's manner in leaving the club? At least Hamer's transfer generated income for the club to invest in new players.

At the end of the day both were excellent players for us and played large parts in our forward progression which is hopefully continuing. I really don't see the need to slag either player off.

I’ve not slagged either off - the kebab comment was clearly a joke.

Really? I think he just got a late offer he couldn't refuse - Mark Robins said as much himself. It is obvious Hamer still loves the club.

The trouble is footballers are doing a job and make decisions around their careers.

Fans just view things through fan loyalty to a club and bias. Fans judgement are often tainted by blind devotion and petulance.

I keep thinking there’s a twist to COH , maybe just maybe he will look at the players signing for us and think City’s going up ? Plus his best mate MVE is here , he would miss him .

Sorry that's just wishful thinking 🧐

We keep going on about the past, move on. Cal O'Hare whether he stays or not won't be the determining factor that gets us promoted, and the proof is in the pudding, just look at the closest we came 2 seasons ago, we did it without O'Hare.

We got to a play off final because of 5 players, Doyle, Mcnally, Sheaf, Hamer and Gyok.

The defensive capabilities of Doyle, Mcnally and Sheaf, coupled with Hamers ability to drive us forward and find Gyok was a simple but effective style we adopted and teams just couldn't find an answer.

O'Hare has never, ever been Coventry City's standout player. We like to romanticise about the way he plays but, yes he passes the eye test but the guy is a mile off Premier League standards.

Hamer was levels above O'Hare ability wise, did Hamer have a stand out season in the Premier Legaue? No.

Cal isn't worth 20/30 grand a week, so if a Leeds United, Burnley, Sheffield United or Luton are silly enough to offer that sort of money for him then my advice to him would be take the money lad. Enjoy trebling your salary, playing half the amount of games and predominantly warming the bench.

Hamer may not have blazed the Premier League, but had a decent season in a crap team..

In my opinion he would suit West Ham. They are poor in midfield defensively and he can still give them the flair their fans like.

Yeah West Ham that's a good shout, but don't they have or looking for a new Manager, if it's someone from overseas they might not have seen Hamer play.

I could see Fulham going for Hamer to replace that bloke they want to sell to Bayern Munich, he is also better than any of the midfielders in the promoted teams.

Would also fit their style of play.

Hamer would be crazy to say at Sheffield United.

They still have a scouting team. Managers, Head Coaches, Directors of Football, whatever label you want to put on them have far more guidance and support on targets these days. Top level football is global now, the old scenario of managers going out and scouting is an archaic scenario.

They will have a list and the new manager will have his ideas. But I bet recruitment will have a bundle of stats on targets and the teams frailties

West Ham appointed the ex Wolves manager about 3 weeks ago.

I was pleased he left our division. The other option was Leeds!

Maybe MVE is leaving too?
