Not arsed about American politics, one things for certain that America does bad things whoever is in charge ..

What I will say is after watching some highlights this morning , are the Democrats really putting forward a man who is clearly on the verge of possibly dementia by the looks of him , is that the best the USA has to offer ?

On the verge? It was like speaking to my gran, and she’s had Parkinson’s Dementia for about 5 years!

Surely only possible if he died?
I believe he has to step down ‘voluntarily’ to make it quick and clean.

Last nights debate has shown how much the Biden administration has been gaslighting the public about the state of his health. A week or two before the debate the press secretary was claiming all the videos showing his poor health were ‘deep fakes’ generated by AI.

Last night was a disaster for Biden and the Democrats.

Trust me mate, it'll do worse things if Trump gets in.

Well we know what a trump presidency looks like don't we , and it was pretty peaceful with a side salad of a bit of nonsense .

Under the Democrats we've had Israel demolish gaza and commit war crimes freely backed by the states and a horrendous US backed war in Ukraine

Can't pretend it will be worse when it wasn't

Even CNN have come out with a list of false allegation or mistruths made by Biden during the debate , the yanks are in trouble

But made the decision not to call anything out during the debate which was a mistake.
Though a fully functioning democratic candidate would have done that.
Anyone cheering on trump after the stolen election bollocks, January insurrection and civil rape case is easily identified as an absolute wrong un though so every cloud!

He's pretty much said he's going full on dictator, though that could be another of his many lies.

I didn't watch it but saw it summarised as 'Biden speaks the truth badly, and Trump tells lies very well'.

And we know all too well which of those gets more votes.

Biden couldn’t speak. He can’t be re-elected

It's madness. We go on about how poor Sunak and Starmer are but fuck me, they're like Kennedy and Attlee compared to these 2.
I don't think Biden will be replaced though which is crazy.

The golf discussion was just like a comedy sketch

I think he might. He’s marginally ahead now in most polls and that’s before last nights fiasco
The crazy thing about the state of US politics is that this election will be decided by 6% of the population in 6 states.

The rust belt of Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, as well as Arizona, Georgia, Nevada

It’s something crazy like 80,000 votes that would have swung the election last time round.

Anyway, I just don’t think he will do it - I think education is a driving factor now versus race etc

Pretty funny

Surely there's got to be an age cap on running for president
Should be shouldn't there. Biden would be 86 come the end of his presidency.

It's a madness.

The other choice to the guy losing his mental capacity, is a candidate who thought we could all inject bleach to kill COVID and wanted to buy Greenland. 🤦

Am I right to say these are states which have also had a big influx of people from other states so it could come down to the demographic of who's moved into them?

a really good point that I was listening to scaramucci explain the other day about how Arizona became a swing state in the first place - a lot of rich people from California migrated there and changed the demographic. Arizona is one place where this could impact 2024 due to it being such a narrow margin for victory for Biden last time out

Definitely something to keep an eye on but my understanding is that’s generally more of a longer term shift to monitor so will impact future election cycles

Can the Dems parachute someone half decent in in time ? If not need a good VP (not Harris) cos if this is the state of Biden now, god knows what he’ll be like in 2-3 years. What a mental situation

At least the gaslighting nonsense about Biden doing a great job running the country will stop now.
No one can pretend anymore that he's capable of running anything.
Biden shouldn't have been on the ballot last time round, let alone this time!

Seen quite a few comments today that what it shows is that the US juggxrnaught just keeps running. The fact is that with a fucked Biden things have improved from when Trump was in office. But as we know we live in a time where people don't really care about the facts.

And of course that's not helped when you've got Trump, who should be nowhere near running for office either, is constantly shouting outright lies yet is rarely challenged in any meaningful way.

Texas is one such state that I wouldn’t be shocked to see become a swing state soon.

It’s not out of the question, it it’s worth noting that a lot of internal migration within the USA is from high tax (usually blue states) moving to low tax states (usually red states).

Overtime, California could become a swing state too because there’s a lot of dissatisfaction with how the state is run. It’s been solidly blue for a long time too.

Like anywhere, the electoral demographics can change out of nowhere.

Biden has just come out and declared that he ‘did well’ in the debate. It’s pretty unfathomable at this stage that he’ll actually stand for re-election on Nov.

November, didn't realise it was that long. I'm bored of general election campaigning now. How do they put up with it dragging on so long. We've already had months of a foregone conclusion candidate selection.

Will they both be alive by November?

You're right when you say that you don't really follow politics if that's what you believe. A bit of nonsense?

Let's start with Ukraine. Who started that war, the Democrats? The invasion of a sovereign European democracy by an autocratic dictator is a bit of nonsense?

Let's look at women's rights: Who installed a hard right majority in the Supreme Court, overturning Wade v Roe. Trying to make abortion effectively illegal. A bit of nonsense?

Who tried to overturn the results of a free and fair democratic election, and is threatening to do so again if he doesn't win? It's that a bit of nonsense too?

As for Gaza, are you aware that Trump is more pro-Israel than the Democrats? This is what he said last night, after accusing Biden of being a like "bad Palestinian"...

"Israel is the one. And you should let them go and let them go finish the job. He doesn’t want to do it,”

Does that sound like someone who is going to make things better in Gaza or for the Palestinians?

Trump's history in office and the chance of him getting re-elected is a bit more than "a bit of nonsense" mate, sorry.
