Waghorn scored 3 in his year and a half with us.

Godden has 9 so far this season but hasn't had a full 90 minutes since mid-January around the last time he scored.

It's been around 3 months without a goal for Godden similar to 3 months without a goal for Simms from end-September to end-December
Waghorn only scored two goals for us, one of which was a penalty.

Quite right - got thrown by the goal he scored for Huddersfield on loan
What a strange signing Waghorn was. Much older than the normal targets, and although a free transfer, he was on big wages. He was hugely disappointing. Could of been a great foil as a No 10 behind Vik (on paper)

Sad part was, before he got injured / Covid that was how it was working. I see how it would've worked but other than a few games early on, it never got the chance to click and Godden stepped up.

Looking at him no wonder some referred to him as Fathorn, an awful signing. Didn't date Walker either ,no idea where he is now.

Added Sandiford and Yearn, no idea on contract length but assume they’re pros even though they’re announced on the academy news section as they’re 19.

Bassette added.

Priority for this season has to be Saka on a new deal IMO. Sheaf likely to leave if we aren’t promoted anyway. 2028 looking tasty.

Would hope we're looking to extend Sheaf and Sakamoto by Christmas. Can't afford for them to get to one year left and lise for free. The 2025 contracts, some are OK, but none would command a large fee or be difficult or expensive to replace. Looks quite a good position to be in if we cam extend those two and perhaps move Collins on.

Even if we can’t move Collins on, letting contracts expire leaves you with:

Dovin/Collins
MvE/??
Thomas/Lats
Binks/Kitching
Dasilva/??
Sheaf/Eccles
Torp/??
Rudoni/??
Saka/Rodriguez
Simms/BTA/Bassette
Wright/EMC

Going into next season. Just a couple of CMs and a couple of FBs short, and probably either sell one or two, or are promoted and are buying quality throughout anyway.

We’re in a really good position. Better than we have been since the PL.

I'd be surprised if Sheaf is here next season , maybe Wright gone too.
