He’s 15. The odds of him even making it through to our first team are slim. To have a sell on like that would be ridiculous
Why? Depending on how long the players been developed here we should definitely be entitled to a stake in his future

We are 'interested' in a Swedish keeper and a 25 year old striker. Will that do you?

I don’t know how long he’s been with us but if city take him, develop him and invest in him costing X amount let’s say for the next 2-3 years. How is it a fair that a club that had him while he was a kid gains 35% of that investment that they have made?

Is it fair that they get 0%?

Are you joking ???

Elite kids are very often picked up by academies at aged 7 or 8. If they invest and develop then for 7 or 8 years and then premier league clubs develop then for just 2 or 3 years why would it be fair that premier club takes all of that upside ??

I’m afraid academies are another area where the FA rules are behind the times.

If things don’t change I can see many EFL clubs stopping their junior academies. If the 2 or 3% that do make it can be taken from you at the end for next to nothing there really is little point in having an academy at all.

There needs to be a discouragement for the massive clubs just hovering up very young prospects. That's the key. Fuck the big clubs they can afford to pay

FA should change it so the bigger club has to give a 35% sell on as well as any compensation owed. Its totally unfair that smaller clubs are shafted
It needs to be a massive sell-on clause but I'd go further and add in payments for every first team game they play, on top of a standard signing on fee. And that's for all clubs taking talent from smaller clubs. Fee should not be based on the level of the team the player is coming from but the level of the team buying them.

If the big clubs had to pay proper compensation they would just through their dummies out and say we aren’t giving you as much money as they drop down the system.

imagine Man City’s face if they took and gave us a pittance and then before he signed a pro deal we pinched him back then they would be asking for rule changes.

It's been that quiet on the transfer front that I'm actually missing a big JH transfer tweet, come on John tell me we're signing Mainoo on a 4 year deal and that he's flew over to have a medical, been shown around the training ground and will be announced either Monday or in 2weeks time the latest!

If the season started tomorrow we’d have a pretty decent starting XI so not too stressed about no more incomings atm. Doesn’t come close to last season when we didn’t have a defence until the season started!
