Summer transfer window 2024 (107 Viewers)

Can’t believe that some people think this has been a brilliant transfer window so far 😂

We’ve currently got the exact same defence as last year (which was widely bashed for being leaky) and we’ve not bolstered our defensive midfield line. Rudoni is fine but I think he’s more of an O’Hare type than a Stamenic/Sheaf/Eccles type. What happens if Sheaf gets injured again? What about rotation or injury to Rudoni? We all happy playing Palmer? What about the LB debacle? What if Van Ewijk gets injured or needs resting? Most importantly, what about just having genuine depth and quality subs that we can bring on to turn a game around? In no way has this been a great transfer window so far 😂
We are in the first week of July ffs.

But what if he does an ACL or something - it would be a big risk to spend money that only might/should come in.

We already have multiple assets that we can call upon in that case (Wright, Simms, MvE, Sheaf). The coaching team will also be hoping that Thomas, EMC, Torp, Rudoni can enter that bracket over the next 12 months.

Gyok is just one of a number of ways we can raise funds if we need to. The fact that we've spent 8m(ish) already, we're in for Dovin, and were ready to sign Stamenic indicates we're happy to complete the squad re-build this summer and fund it later on.

We have skimped on the new training kit to put dosh in the transfer kitty. Don't panic lads

You’re telling me you’re contempt with no one ever signing for us ever again, do you think we have enough to field even an 11 for pre season against Darmstadt
Number 1 its content not contempt

Number 2 where have i said I'd be happy if the window closed now

Number 3 Of course we have enough.

Don’t really get the gloom, we’ve signed three decent players (maybe 2 if not including Raphael). We’ve clearly gone for more and lost out on one due to the player playing the club. We will sign more players hopefully one or two more this week. If we do sign the goalie and a St this week that’s only a CB and a CM to go.

Not sure if I'm missing something glaring but to me it seems like Browne has gone to Sheff Utd, same with Burrows. Considering they were both heavily linked, haven't gone anywhere else and Sheff Utd are waiting for there takeover to go through seems cut and dry that they're going there.

Of course we have enough to field 11 players, in fact we can easily field two teams of 11 players. Obviously keeper is a problem but we have two full teams here:

Wilson
MvE
Bidwell
Thomas
Binks
Eccles
Sheaf
Rudoni
Wright
Simms
EMC

Collins
Burroughs
Dasilva
Latibeaudiere
Kitching
Torp
Allen
Palmer
Sakamoto
Tavares
Rodriguez

That's before you even get to youngsters like Andrews, Obikwo, Daush etc.

I am sure we will sign more but they can't all be exotic foreign signing names for £5million unless we sell some of our assets first.

I agree with this bit, I don’t think every signing has to cost the earth, even a £1-2 mil prospect for the future is okay in some areas. I think that Camara bloke would be a good example of a wise investment that doesn’t cost a shit ton.

We’ve spent about 12 million on EMC Binks and Rudoni plus whatever Raphael was. Dont think anyone in the league has spent as much? More signings will come, just relax

5 full weeks until the season starts. Even by your levels of pessimism you are panicking early this year.

I know Saddle can defend himself, and I’m not trying to speak for him, but I don’t think him or anyone else is “panicking”, we’re just saying it’s not been a good transfer window so far as others have claimed. I have hope we’ll get in at least 2-3 signings but I don’t think any of us panicking, just yet.

If we have a couple of million to spare I would far rather spend it on a first choice keeper than reserve right back.

This time last year we only had JDS and Lati signed later this week. We are already better off than last year
