As a proud Paddy, I love everything Irish, but I wore an England T-shirt last night while watching the game. Went nuts when Watkins scored! Well done lads! You had my heart last night and I'll be watching on Sunday, although I feel that Spain will be a massive test. 🇫🇴 🇮🇪 🇫🇴 🇮🇪 🇫🇴 🇮🇪

Agree with everything except the Faroe Islands bit!

I, too, remember the days of supporting Ireland when we had a football team.

Yeah, and I actually DID think penalty. That was just applying the current nutty logic in football.

If that was anywhere else on the pitch, it would in many, many cases, be given as a foul.

It was a bit harsh, but thems the rules and Kane touched the ball and then the defender caught his foot

I know most say not a pen, but I thought it was. Wasn't screaming for it though and wouldn't have been irked had it not been given

We have had so many things go against us haven't we over the years, so it was nice to see something go our way for once.

I watch the 6 Nations Rugby with a passion, every year. I go nuts when Ireland win. I agree with the football team. Never been a threat, ever since the Jackie Charlton days!

It was less obvious than Thomas’ against the scumbags and I still don’t think that was one either.

I used to cheer on Ireland because of my Grandad. A decent team full of mainly Premier League players once upon a time. Back in the days when even even mediocre nations seemed to have a decent group of players.
Not sure what's happened to football globally, nothing can change my mind that the quality of player has dropped off in a big way.

The current obsession with boring, shot aversive, AAATB football has something to do with it.

Not sure if there is something wrong with me but I barely celebrated that goal last night. I just punched the air and that was it.

Last minute winner to get to a euro final, I should have gone crazy, but I didn't.

And yet I remember going fucking crazy when Sturridge scored a last minute winner to beat Wales in the group stage of 2016.

I wonder if it's something to do with how city are doing at the time. Like back then we were pretty shit, so maybe I enjoyed England games more, but now we're doing well England games feel like an after thought.

Just comparing how I reacted to that goal last night and how I reacted to Wright's winner at wolves and it's night and day.

And it kind of feels like on Sunday I'll just be watching at home so I'll have a few beers through the game, and if we win I'll stay up for a bit to watch the trophy being lifted and then just go to bed and that'll be it. Feels weird!

Anyone else feel like that?

Is there much of a buzz about it there in general? There seemed to be a lot more when I was last there in 2018.

Same, totally different to the Switzerland game when we scored I was apathetic.

Yesterday when Watkins scored I went mad. Think its reaction to a game where we deserved to win, rather than one where we slogged through.

This I couldn't disagree with more.

We've been without a trophy for so long I would do anything for the win on Sunday. I don't care if it comes by playing the worst football imaginable. Just get over the line.
I've seen enough glorious failure with England to last a lifetime, offer me the shittiest success imaginable and I'll bite your hand off

Did we celebrate more that an attacker came on, tried something a little audacious in comparison and slotted it home? It was a very good finish. Not sure how many of us anticipated it from the Palmer pass, I sort of thought Watkins was down a cul-de-sac.

All celebrated out after last week PVA 😉

A couple of mates were saying yesterday that the tournament just hasn’t lit fire inc most of our performances. which has dampened some of the excitement. Been a strange one

All I’d say is everyone should be getting themselves up for Sunday. Never happened before and we don’t know when it might happen again. Come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

A Spanish colleague of mine has said we are ‘doing a Real Madrid’, which must be a compliment for being ultimate shithousers.

The Scots are absolutely furious on socials.

I don't get it. I get the rivalry and not wanting us to win but being absolutely furious when we do is a bit much.

Supporting whoever England are playing is all they’ve got. Their miserable side will never get close to achieving anything.

That's where I am with him. Clearly a lovely bloke; just think he's been average at managing ( on the pitch) a decent group of players.

He can't be that bad - we have now had two finals and a semi final in 4 competitions

Plenty of supposedly good teams fall by the wayside.

Big name managers have constantly struggled to create any team spirit with England - where players egos were massaged and they were more interested in that than being committed to win

Will go mental if we beat Spain, but will be over it by the morning if we lose. Different with CCFC ( although I didn't get as 'hurt' as much as I thought I would by the Man U game) Would have been different, were that a play off final. Would really like to see Gordon on the left against Spain ( but won't happen)

After last night I don't really think you can drop any of them
