What makes the Supreme Court a farce is not just that the President picks new judges for it, but that they always, *always* seem to vote in line with politics. Surely, *surely* there are times when the law guides you away from that, regardless of where you stand politically?!?

So therefore, what does that say about trust in the law anyway, to avoid scenes like last tie out?

If you want to listen to a clueless clown show like Mike Davis then that's on you.

I just hope he never logs into SBT Dave.

His vast and impressive US legal experience at the highest level, recognitions and qualifications would count for nothing if he ever saw that you’d labelled him a clueless clown.

Thanks for the 'heads up' though. ;)

To be fair levels of expertise aren't really relevant when people are chasing ratings.
Otherwise Fox would have reigned in what they were spouting about Dominion which they knew wasn't true and saved themselves several hundred million.

Yes it is scary. Exactly what he needed to facilitate his stated aim of being dictator. As President he literally could order the execution of any opposition politicians free from prosecution.

Of course this is the danger of having lawyers as political appointments.
Exactly. This has basically given him the green light to completely remove anyone who opposes him and fill it with lackies and yes men. His first term told us that he believes that the only thing that is right for the USA is what's right for him. He will try and remove curbs on his powers and it could get very, very ugly.

isn't Trump responsible for nominating over 20% of the current Supreme Court? Always found it laughable that the US is supposed to be this bastion of democracy and checks and balances yet the President could theoretically choose every single member of the top court in the land. Utter joke.

And as you say, it votes based on political allegiance. I ask myself if this were the other way round and it was Biden would they reach the same ruling? I'm not entirely sure they would.

Looks like it's Kamala Harris then.

Like most effective charlatans of the past he has charismatic appeal, sells quick fix solutions, and blames external scapegoats for the country's problems.
How was he a charlatan specifically? His solutions are different to ones you prefer.

He talks very differently to how he governs. For example, on NATO and Afghanistan - he was dismissed as a fool for chastising German diplomats for their reliance on Russian energy. Then came along the Ukrainian war.

Ironically, some of Biden’s policy decisions has alienated allies far more damagingly than that of Trump. Again, the unilateral and haphazard withdrawal in Afghanistan is said to have ‘green lit’ Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as the Russians calculated the US would support Ukraine. That and Biden said 1-2 weeks before the invasion that Russia could get away with a ‘small scale’ operation. Again, on FP, Trump had some major success in the ME and whereas on Biden’s watch, they’re conflicting the region.

I’m not a fan of Trump and it’s a sad state of affairs that Biden and Trump are supposedly the best the US could come up with. Of the two, Trump would make a better president.

A charlatan is someone who pulls confidence tricks in order to gain power. That is what Trump has done most of his life. A prolific liar who has sold snake oil to the public to in fact leave his country in a worse state than it was found.

His tax cuts alone were a very clear exercise in transferring wealth even more to the rich, and it caused huge economic damage.

One problem. That was Trumps policy, the withdrawal began on Trumps watch by the time Biden took power there’s was only about a fifth of the US forces in Afghanistan as there was when Trump took over from Obama and the Taliban were already running riot. I ain’t saying Biden and us for that matter couldn’t have handled it better (good old Raab, the sea was closed. Forgot about that one) but to lay all the blame on the Biden administration is disingenuous to say the least and had Trump won a second term there’s every chance it could have been equally chaotic if not more.

Not that it will make a difference to his fanboys but the latest Epstein transcripts released by the court do not reflect well on Trump.

No-one, I repeat, no-one, should be celebrating at the thought of a Trump victory.

It's absolute madness that the Democrats are putting Biden up again for re-election.

I don't know what the answer is in all this mess, but it certainly shouldn't be Trump.

😢
It's a shambles.

Gareth Southgate out!

These two just can't work together in an election campaign. Anyone can see that😮💨

How much longer can this go on? When he first got in given his age I thought they may replace him part way through the term or at least in the run up to an election but he's gone downhill rapidly and they've just ploughed ahead. Truly bizarre, they must be able to see how much damage this is doing and how they're opening the door for Trump to get back in.
Joe Biden has caused concern with a new blunder that saw him suggest he was the “first Black woman to serve alongside a Black president.”

The US president was appearing on Philadelphia’s Wurd radio station as part of 4 July celebrations, when he spoke of his achievements.

“By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice-president, first Black woman… to serve with a Black president,” he said, confusing his achievements alongside Barack Obama with Kamala Harris’.

Don’t worry it will end in November

He had a bad night and only the lord Almighty could get him to leave the race.

Asked during his interview whether he would step down if he became convinced he could not beat Trump, Biden said he would only do so “if the Lord Almighty comes down” and tells him to.

“If the Lord Almighty came down and said, ‘Joe, get out of the race,’ I’d get out of the race,” Biden said.

“The Lord Almighty’s not coming down,” added Biden, who is a devout Catholic.

Stephanopoulos responded: “I agree that the Lord Almighty is not going to come down. But if you are told reliably from your allies, and your friends and supporters in the Democratic Party, in the House, in the Senate that they’re concerned you’re going to lose the House and the Senate if you stay in, what will you do?”

Which begs the question if the Dem Funders have the Lord Almighty on Speed Dial?

This is nothing new though is it?
It's just confirmation of the gaslighting nonsense that's been played out straight faced to the world throught his presidency. The only difference now is that he's firmly in the spotlight and they can't hide it no matter how much coaching they give him.

The embarrassing gaffes, unintelligible mumblings and falls have been commonplace throughout the last four years and his weakness has been seized upon by enemies of the West.
Increasingly angry Americans are asking who has actually been running the US since 2020? Obviously not Biden.

Trump has made some really embarrassing gaffes too and also talked utter nonsense at times

Neither of them are fit to govern.
