It's a fair point from Robins, experience isn't an innate feature of any player so buying a player purely to bring it can be short sighted. That said, that wasn't the only reason we were interested in Browne. I think his message is looking for players like one of the centre backs to step up and provide a bit more leadership.
Yes I agree, I would add Sheaf and Eccles to that. I remember Coventry signing Terry Yorath who was a leader and an obvious Captain. At the time he was a similar age to Sheaf with a similar amount of appearances.
Age isn't the only measure of experience. Drive and maturity are also important attributes.
