So what's the expectations for this season (9 Viewers)

No one wants to say it or even think it but let's be honest

If we bring in the needed striker and decent midfielder, Robins has zero excuse to not get play offs minimum

He's been backed with cash on and off the field for 2.5 years by the end of this season and King will simply ask 'why have you not achieved when you've been given all the tools asked for?'

With the squad as it stands, I think we have an 80% chance of the playoffs and a 20%
chance of automatic promotion.

These odds will improve with a few more good signings of the right quality.

I feel like the infrastructure around Robins has been built, not with a view to getting rid of him, but with partly with a view to reducing our dependency on him so he could leave with less upheaval than what might have been.
Interesting point. Certainly more sustainable as it should be. Almost felt couple of years ago if robins and vivas walked out we go back to square 1, doesn't feel like that now even.

I would also hope King et al have a succession plan of sorts, certainly list of types of manager for when that time inevitably comes.

Very good point didn't think of it that way

I agree with a lot posted above, settled side from the last 12 months, also the new guys who have come in seem to be settling in well with the videos I have seen of pre season training, onwards and upwards for the mighty Sky Blues

It is a tough league, but think we should be somewhere in the top 8. Can't see us being in auto's but should be competing for a top 6 finish.

If we lose a couple early in season some are going to need serious counselling on here. Also someone will be saying this is a must win game before 1st November.

Probably more confident about the predictions in paragraph 2 to be honest 😂

I think it's what the club needs moving forward whether Robins is in the equation or not? These things can be the difference between landing a target or not landing a target.

You can't claim to have Premier League aspirations when you are operating like a League 2 club. If you want success you have to give your staff the environment and support to achieve it

We've currently got the same team that stank the place out last 10 league games plus January signing EMC and Rudoni replacing Ohare

If DK wants the Prem coin we'll see if he fronts for the min. 3 players MR needs for the vital next step.

Pretty much that and our bench consists of Allen, Lats, Dasilva, Tavares etc. Hardly an inspiring set of options if MR wants to make changes.

Hopefully a strong start and keep the momentum going for the season. Hopefully Play Offs but still strong sides in this league.

Leeds, Sheff Utd, Burnley, WBA, Luton and Middlesbrough strong. My fancy this year is Norwich for unknown reason !! Also fancy Bristol City to have a strong season.

I think with 3 or 4 players we can definitely hit the top 6

We saw that with Luton. A club can reach a stage where it’s so well run that a manager leaving is no big deal.

Eh? So you've chosen to omit Torp, EMC and Rodriguez?
One of the main reasons we flatlined last season was once Sakamoto got injured we only had MvE and Tavares as viable options . This season we have a lot more

This.

We found a system that worked for us and then because of Sakamoto’s injury, we were fucked as we only had our only real RB to play on the wing. Not to mention the knock on effect it had to our defence.

This year we have the additional squad depth of EMC, Rodrigues and even Rudoni who will cover.

Can't see us getting into the autos but should be good enough to get into the play-offs with the depth we should have by the start of season🤞
It will be tough going though, according to my calculations we'll have to finish above 18 other clubs. Can you check my workings please, Rachel?

I think that currently we are pretty nailed for top 6. Vik and Hamer going and then it's game on for autos. As a gambling man 16/1 currently to finish top and 11/2 for promotion are decent bets based on the previous assumptions

Think below top 6 would be certain failure this time around.

But I’m gonna say 21st just in case.

And Saka back, but apart from that I agree.

Let’s get real. Half the clubs in the league will be expecting play offs.
Half a dozen clubs will be expecting automatic promotion.
We are in the mix,it ain’t gona be easy!
Hope for a good start, don’t panic when we hit a bad run of results and see where we are at Easter.
Then it’s all of us stick together for the push for home.

Bigger squad depth than the last two seasons required including a top keeper, if so I expect us to finish top 6. We need to get off to a good start this season, and forget about the cup competitions.
