What do we still need? (10 Viewers)

With the Dovin debacle now sorted, what actually do we need still?

Rb? After yday I’d be happy with Burroughs being the backup.

Cm- I think we need one but that would make 6 considering I think Allen would be a useful asset in this formation

ST- this is one we clearly need

Cb- maybe a right sided one if people don’t think Lati is up to it.

What do people think?

Was that a debacle?

I agree with you more or less.
I have a nagging doubt about LB but it seems that’s a non-starter.
My doubt is essentially that Bidwell is getting on a bit and Dasilva hasn’t grown enough in the last year.

As an aside, I noted that the West Indian wicket keeper is also called Josh Dasilva and is 6ft. It can happen.

We need to improve the 1st team.

LB - a fusion of the two we have would be nice!

ST - look a bit light

CM - a top class ball winning CM would make a difference and release Sheaf and Rudoni to play higher up.

Possibly a RB but Lati and Eccles can play there as can Saka in an emergency. Burroughs might also be kept around.

The top two priorities should be a central midfielder that has some leadership qualities. We need a proper captain really. Another striker with some alternative attributes should be another.

We have some great players though. Squad is pretty good. Not far off I would say.
Yes if we only made those 2 signings I’d say we were ready.

Allows us to pick and choose quality loans should they come available

ST and CM, and think we'll see both for sure.
Other 2 positions I'd like but I'm not sure we'll get are LB and RCB, can't really see it happening because of who we already have on our books. I guess I'm prepared to give Dasilva and Lati a clean slate.

Yep, I think concentrate now on getting a marquee CM and then another ST to compete with Simms and Wright, then we’re about there.

If we get another CM then that would allow Eccles to fill in at RB should Milan be out for any reason and as tou say, we'd also haveBurroughs.

I think CM and striker and although it won't happen I'd like to punt Dasilva and get another LB in.

Over the moon we've got a new keeper in. Hopefully he lives up to the hype.

ST probably priority if we don't want to burden Obikwu/Dausch with the responsibility of being 3rd choice. I'd then potentially be looking at a bit of extra cover for CM.

This very quick depth chart I've knocked up makes for pretty good reading!

Give Wilson a run out up front?

If the season started tomorrow then I think we're in fantastic shape. I think we would want another few players covering RB, CB, CM and ST positions but I don't think we need any. We need an Assistant Manager though.

I think we are pretty much equally strong across all positions apart from left back. I am not sure we can bring in a third senior left back though.

What we lack is a real leader and also a real top quality player in the Hamer or Gyokeres mould who can carry the team. It doesn't really matter what position they play, but that is what would turn us into a top team. We should not discount the loan market to find this player/players.

Priority for me is a CB. We still haven’t replaced McFadzean.

CM, ST are very important

Then in an ideal world bring a right sided defender in for more depth there, maybe even a right winger

First team CM, someone with real quality on the ball that we’ve lacked since Hamer left.

Backup ST, someone who can challenge and deputise for Simms

Maybe a CB but I thought we looked OK, though the defence is looking very young.

I don’t know if CM is that vital?

I’d like another one if we’re playing a 3, but we seem fairly well stocked.

Striker 100% and I’d like an attacking left back as an alternative style to Bidwell.

I think we need a third to play with Sheaf and Rudoni who is a bit better than both of them in terms of ball retention and passing range/speed. Palmer and Allen are very much make weights, Torp yet to prove himself, Eccles not quite at the level we need yet IMO. Just feel we lack a bit of quality.

Paddy McNair, would bring organisation and experience to the defence. Free Transfer high wages
Antoine Bernede would bring experience and quality to midfield. approx £4m
Morgan Whittaker would bring goals, can play on the right or as a 10.repotedly off to Rangers for £7m.

See you next year in the Prem

A mate of mine is absolutely adamant that we’re signing Marc Albrighton on a free. I can’t see it myself, just doesn’t fit our transfer policy.

CM in the box to box or 6 mould of real quality

ST, pacy and play off the shoulder to compliment Simms when we need something different

Happy with Burroughs to be Milans stand in

If I'm being really greedy an experienced right sided CB

But the CM and ST and away we go

I agree with all of this.

Priority has to be a backup striker now, then a CM after that.

Agree, wouldn't mind a loan for the CB or ST. But if the right player with potential comes up, then I'm sure we'll sign them.

The CM needs to be ours though, I feel.

We definately need a striker next.
If Simms picks up an injury we're struggling, Wright looked poor as a CF with his back to goal, so I wouldn't want him up front for any length of time. EMC is a possibility, but I think he's better suited on the wing or as a 10. So more cover is required.

In an ideal world I'd want a LB, RB, CH, CM a striker, and a massive cock.

I really think we need a top class cm with energy to play alongside Sheaf, Eccles and Torp are ok but I'm not sure if Sheaf, Eccles and Torp are enough for a team who want to be in the top 6 abr challenging the top 2.

Another striker would be nice but not as important as the CM for me.

Centre mid and striker are both the important positions we still need to fill

I would say the priority is ST, CM, RB, then LB and CB.

I think we will only sign players if they come at the right price and quality.. I think we might have to be patient on some of those positions.

Just depth for me. Happy with the quality but at times we looked a bit short, particularly late in the season and only have the same net number. All fit now so unless injuries that could come in January.

GK was the obvious upgrade and that's sorted hopefully. I'd still like Burrows at LB, but we don't appear to be in the running, so also depends on if we let anyone go out on loan.

CM would be good for depth but not the end of the world as we have options. A ST is needed to back up Simms.
