Who should still move on? (2 Viewers)

As the flip side to the 'what do we still need' thread, I think we need to move a few on.

Anyone you think we should add to below or even a case for some to retain?

A keeper has to go, I'd get rid of Collins as likely higher wages and longer contract, but will be more difficult and suspect it will be Wilson.

I'd like a more progressive LB and similar to above, I'd prefer to keep Bidwell over JDS, but suspect it might be the other way.

I'd move on Jamie Allen, I think we need better in reserve to push on. Shame but can't be nostalgic.

I'd look at loaning out as many as we can from Bell, Burroughs, Howley, Andrews, Dausch and Obikwu. All did ok tonight and arguably the starting team scored the goals, but I'd like more experience on the bench as after consideration, I'd be worried if we had to start any of them for any length of time (and yes it is contradictory to my opening post on the Obikwu thread).

Previously I'd also said I was happy with squad until January but if we can get these out I'd like another CM and a decent back up striker. Ideally some experience and preferably a leader with a bit of bite.

Think you summed it up well. Of the youngsters you have said loan out I think robins should keep the one prospect he thinks could have some sort of breakthrough this season around the first team squad.

Agree as long as they do get a chance as benchwarming will hamper their development even being in and around the squad imo. No substitute for actually playing competitive games.

Bell has looked great in the training videos. So really good saves. Loan hopefully.
Dausch should also get a loan in my opinion.
Sounds like obikwu is getting better and better and tbh for me he needs a good season now at league 1-2 ripping it up week in, week out.

Allen is fine. Just what we need an experienced midfielder with a good engine who is a solid reliable squad player. If his injury problems are behind him, he will make a major contribution this season. He was written off two seasons ago and came back as one of our best players. Last season was a write off for him. We can't get rid off our older (but not that old) players and replace them with kids. Godden was past his sell by date, Allen isn't.

Send the youngsters out on loan. We need a striker and a RB to challenge MVE although will MR stick with Burroughs?

Let a keeper go and maybe a CM

I doubt MR will stick with Burroughs after last nights performance. Obikwu looks to be rising to the challenge and I would say has gone ahead of Tavares in the striker rankings.

Moving out Allen would be stupid in my opinion. If Sheaf and Torp are out then he plays as one of the midfield 3. Even if we get another starting CM in he would be the next one in. You wouldn’t get more than 200/300k for him so just let him run his contract down with us - he’ll end up playing more games than we think

Allen's a really useful member of the squad. Boundless energy, disciplined, is good at moving the ball quickly from back to front and links the midfield and forwards well.

If it hadn't been for injury, I think we'd have seen a lot more of him last season. If it was a straight choice between the two, I'd keep him over Palmer.

What will happen - no one else out other than kids loans

What should happen - one of Collins Wilson out, Palmer out

Don't expect either of Wilson or Collins to go. Mental I know

We don’t need 3 first team goalies. It eats up wages that would go on a position we need. I just don’t see why we’d keep 3 unless we’ve had no offers.

Not by choice surely... annoying we've managed to get ourselves into another Simon Moore situation.

You're correct we don't need 3. And in a ideal world we fuck one off

However last I was told there are no takers fir either of them and they're happy to do a Moore

Theres a danger that some people get too sentimental about home grown talent and long serving players even if they aren't up to the task of pushing for promotion. The squad should be constantly evolving to remove the weakest links either by selling or loaning to better them. That includes taking incoming loans if needed in my opinion.

Burroughs is 23 and well below the level, got destroyed last night against an average league 1 outfit. I know it’s a friendly but players like him are playing for their opportunity and on that he’s nowhere near.

The other homegrown lot are younger and should be given more time to develop, agree a loan is right

Slightly different circumstances though. Wilson is able to do that with only a year however Collins has another 2 so its a long time to do nothing.

I agree with Obikwu. Very good potential but currently i think that's all it is. I wouldn't want him leading the line in a league game at the moment

Morning 😎

I would loan out Bell, Burroughs, Howley, Andrews and Dausch.
Keep Obikwu as part of the squad.

Still think we need 3 players myself ( CD, DM, STR )

With the current injuries we cannot afford to loan out anyone but Bell (presuming Collins and Wilson stay). With Sheaf, Torp, Rodrigues, Wright and Dovin currently injured, (and Kitching suspended), you are looking at a starting XI of:
Collins, MVE, Bidwell, Thomas, Binks, Ecclies, Rudoni, Allen, Sakamoto, Simms, EMC.
And a bench of:
Wilson, Dasilva, Burroughs, Lati, Palmer, Tavares, Andrews, Obikwu, Dausch or possibly Howley instead of one of those, as such we can't really afford to move players either through sale or loan until we have more players in.

ideally

Tavares, Dausch, Andrews, Howley, Bell all on loan

One of Wilson/Collins, JDS, Palmer out permanently
Sort of agree but it depends on a lot..

Tavares out on loan - Only if Rodrigues is better right now, otherwise you keep him

JDS - Happy to let him go and ideally we'd buy a better left back but not sure i can see it

Palmer - Again ok with him going but would we be able to replace right now? Not sure

I'd also add Obikwu to the out on loan list, based on pre-season he's starting to look League 1 ready and i'd be sending him out to play regular mens football asap.

Think right now only either Collins/Wilson go out permanently.

No one else leaves without incomings ie Palmer/JDS.

Dausch, Andrews, Howley loans perhaps Obikwu dependant on Robins thoughts. Burroughs keep around as RB cover.

Think Allen is one of our most underrated players, and we don't have many in the team who has that engine that someone like Callum O'Hare had

As much as Id love a homegrown talent to break through, Burroughs is not it. We really need RB cover that can also play up more, in the Camara mold.

In a 433 I would play Allen over Palmer everyday of the week and twice on a Sunday

For me Palmer is now a redundant member of the squad and we need to look to offload him and 1 of the keepers

Again only going off what I was told weeks ago before throwing the towel in but I'd only expect to see a CM and ST for definite

The experienced centre half would be later in the window if the right one became available for loan
Any news on a RB since Camara broke down
