I admire your optimism, I hope you are right
I always try and be optimistic with the city mate, but in the end I'm not the one who has to negotiate with their club and convince a talented French lad who's played for some big teams in Europe to come here, all I can do is hope the club has done that and get the deal over the line.

For example Vik came here with a below average scoring record, last year he scored 43+ goals, Wright came here with 16 goals in Turkey he got 19 last year, Simms before he came here was loaned to Sunderland and had a spell in Scotland he got 19 last year, so looking at that our club is a attractive proposition for players to come to and improve whilst playing in a team that's got an exciting brand of football.

Is he the real deal? Anywhere we can see him preform or stats would like to get excited by this signing if he is up there with the lad forest poached or is a next best.
Came through the PSG academy and played in the first team alongside the likes of Buffon, went to RB Saltzburg and won a title I think, went to the Swiss league and missed only 4 games last year and was the best player in that league.

If you go in YouTube you'll see what he could bring to the table

I know on here some people advocate a player in one specialist position or they take the view jack of all trades master of none.

But I prefer to listen to someone like Paul Warne on Sports talk, "With injuries and what a season can throw at you, you need players in the squad who are open to playing in different positions during the season. I want players who just want to be in the team and out there playing. Those are the players I target."

Which is why I think we are looking at a right sided utility player like Camara who we were linked with

No, that isn’t the view. Lati hasn’t got the height/physicality for centre back, the pace/dynamism for right back, or enough skill on the ball for CDM.

I disagree with your opinion on Lati. But my post was more general than specifically about Lati. It was more about the type of player we might target.

There is every possibility that Gyok and Gus get sold in the coming weeks. Whilst we all want more signings to be ready for stoke. If the calibre of player/right players are only available once/if that happens then it's the right thing to wait. You can't force the transfer market without being top of the tree in terms of transfers and we certainly aren't.

Modern day centre halves aren't always giants and I would've said Latibeaudiare is one of the more physical players in the squad

For me the trouble Lati had last season was he was chopped and changed too much from week to week. If you are moved into an alternative position you deserve two or three games on the bounce to acclimatise, before being judged.

Im watching it they just mentioned us when he was on the ball. But my Bulgarian is not up to much so no idea what was said other than our name and championship football

Well, Lati is the main example in the squad and he genuinely is a 'jack of all trades master of none' in my view. If you can find a player who's what we need in multiple positions it makes obvious sense to sign him. Burroughs who's equally strong on either foot could be one if he improves this season, for one example.

Yup.
We have had 4 out and 4 in, so, assuming no more leave we need at least another 3 in to have the depth MR has consistently said he wants. For me they have to be:

Experienced CB
Gus style CM
Nippy ST

I would like one more in midfield but I don't think we'll get it.
And any in comings might go right down to the wire if we are waiting on the Gus/Vik money.
There is always a danger that you miss out and end up short.
I do agree with you, as I’m sure most do. The one slight asterix against it (based on limited funds) is that we potentially have enough decent centre backs without upsetting people for not getting enough game time and causing team spirit issues. I’d look to push a Godden replacement and a CM first.

I know our defensive record last year suggests we need to reinforce that, but I’m blindly hoping that a year’s experience for young players will help them. Probably not enough, but I’d reinforce up top first, then CM, then centre back (then right back).
Obviously, money dictates everything.

Absolute worst case is we’ll get loans in the positions required (Centre midfield and striker)
