Used to be called tapping up in old money! I'm all for it!
All for the tapping up. I think these days it's only frowned upon when managers talk of other players, not so much what goes on behind the scenes. Rudoni was made well aware we wanted him, and that goes a long way, if a player feels wanted then it can sway deals.

A shrewd signing, depending on what wage he's on. He's underachieved in his career so far but even at 29 he's got a higher ceiling of potential than BTA. I fancy CC to get the best out of him and quite a few of our fans to be eating their words by the end of the season.

Yikes, that is a big dose of copium - which I recently found out is not a drug! 😂

That's also my point. Would I be happy if Simms and Wright are sold next summer and BTA is our #1 striker for 25/26? Not on the evidence of his last couple of seasons.

I think it’s good to be looking ahead tbh and although I think Asante is a great signing it’ll be interesting to see what happens next season if we sell Simms, Haji or Van Ewijk. I can’t see all of them being here next season, they’ve already proven to be quality at this level and it’s only been one season so far.

It’s the main reason I’d like another RB tbh, not only for rotation, but also so that the player has chance to “gel” with us before we sell Van Ewijk for a decent profit (can only assume that’s what will happen at some point soon).

Let’s just worry about this season first mate? Haha

We’re signing WBA top goalscorer from last season in his last year of his contract for £2.5m. That’s how you do business. He’s proven in this league. Top signing
Ironically, precisely the kind of signing people were saying they’d have made when Wright and Simms were slow off the mark last season.

Thankfully, the last time I recall hearing the phrase ‘I’d have signed a proven Championship striker’ was Sheffield Wednesday at home in the cup replay. We have 3 strikers (Including BTA) who have 10+ goals in a season. Bang on the money!

I’ve been reading the Hull forum and to be fair they’re not mad at us or the player. They are pissed off at their owners more than anything

We’re doing some really shrewd business this summer. Mason-Clark, Rudoni, Thomas-Asante in. In the Championship you need lots and lots of goals. We look really strong up top.
