I think BTA will be a good signing but it’s weird to even use goals at all as a comparison between CM’s and strikers

It's just stats a general overview. Get over it. Interpret them how you like it's a free world.

People were wetting their pants with excitement over us paying 5m for Stamenic who has never played in this country, who has played about 90 games in total and scored 4 goals. OK he is only 22 but even so. BTA still looks good business cheaper and less of a gamble.

I know they are apples and pears but getting value for money?
BTA scored 2 less league goals than Simms including one of the best goals we conceded last season (WBA’s 2nd in the home tie). He’d start for most Championship teams and he’s not a guaranteed starter for us.

Had we signed Stamenic, I’d be happy to predict us finishing as high as 3rd or 4th this season. If we’re playing 4-3-3 we need another body in there.

A big CM signing and perhaps a loanee or 2 and the squad is looking right up there with the best in this division. Not the best, I don’t want to get too excited now.

A goal that was admitted to be offside but yes, unstoppable.

If this squad ends up taking us up there's an argument for Vik being the most important player we've ever had. Its financed a complete rebuild of quality players that all belong to us.

Is the equivalent of when Liverpool sold Coutinho. Sometimes selling your best player for big bucks can be a blessing and not a curse providing your owners reinvest the funds back into the team

Racist undertones? Okay skippy, I guess you're a burner account of another butthurt loser.

Have a good life and see you in your next account, toodles.
Nothing to do with down under pal. Just one of many on here who dont like you or your terrorist, racist views and bullying of people. Your a prick pal and when your called out you bottle it and sit behind your keyboard to scared to say it face to fzce

The way it’s been done, should we not go up this season we’ll have a number of players to cash in for big money to support another recruitment drive. Still not convinced about us going the distance without the depth in defence especially.

If we don’t go up we’re in a cycle now in terms of buying potential and selling for big bucks. It’s inevitable we will return to the Premiership very soon.

Well, I’m not so fussed about the depth per se. My belief is that there’s a general lack of experience in the team. Given the catalogue of avoidable goals we conceded last season, you’d think an experienced CB would be really beneficial.

This season at least, I reckon Lati will be mostly deployed as a RB. LB will definitely be a priority next summer as Bidwell will be leaving and JDS probably isn’t ever going to be up to the standard required to push the top level of the Championship.

The squad will be constantly evolving, it doesn't stop because you have a squad today. You have to develop younger players, develop signed players all for the purpose of selling them for a profit. Most if not all of todays squad will not be with us in 2 or 3 seasons.

I agree about the CB and the rumours around Joe Worrall suggested that so does MR. Think left back is our weakest part of the pitch and MVE will not be able to play 90 minutes in every game this season either.

I asked for Dublin and a week later he got sold
I had some classics Boateng who then went to Villa and the same with Hadji and then I thought I will get the dark blue shirt with our new £5,000,001 signing on it Hughes has taken some washing off the back of that shirt

As we only know so well following the Mowbray season, think Hull are about to get a tough lesson on the overreliance on loans!

They had a good side last year which should have got into the Top 6, they have been left with the core of that team stripped away and are now being frustrated in the transfer market with just two players signed (and one of those in Ryan Giles wants to leave already) with 9 days till the new season

Not one bit surprised if they struggle this time around

Just had a look, currently only 16 senior outfield players on the books there. Sacking Rosenior looked ridiculous at the time and more so now.

I was shocked they moved him on I must admit! To replace him with someone relatively unknown is even more of a shock to me
It’s like they saw what happened to Birmingham after sacking John Eustace and fancied a trip to League 1 themselves. They will be in big trouble without some decent recruitment this month.

Their owners are generally well liked by their fans as well I wonder if that might change if they struggle

The Birmingham fans also love the yank owners despite conspiring to get them relegated. Whereas some of our fans still have an axe to grind against Doug for the crime of trying to make the club professional

I do think with Brum they can probably put last season down to naivety on their owners part

They have put their money where their mouth is this summer and should be winning that League - That being said it would be fucking hilarious to see them flop and stay down there for years, can't see it though I think they will win it at a canter

Sunderland spent big in L1 first season down and couldn’t make it out, so you never know.

L1 looks weak as piss this season in my opinion, Blues are the biggest club down there by a mile

I'd be inclined to say now your likes of Pompey, Derby, Ipswich and Sheff Weds have cleared off in the last couple of years that now is the best time to drop down to L1 if you are going to do it

Yep inclined to agree. Hoping they fuck it up as if we’re still in this league when they come back with potentially Wrexham as well, there’ll be some serious financial piss taking along with Lesta coming back down.
