I get the sense that Wilson is a upbeat personality to have around the squad.

Can't pick Wilson over Collins just because he likes the banter ffs

There's a chance the second choice keeper may not play a minute in the league. A good personality isn't a bad thing. Neither of them are particularly good keepers.

If it was purely football in a vacuum then Wilson. But on every measure that matters for a backup (personality, wage, etc) it’s got to be Collins really.

I have no idea if Wilson is on 10k a week but it's a figure I quoted I think he could be on the other night when discussing this. I think Wilson knows the craic, knows age is against him and knows if he moves then he would be lucky to be on half of that. I think he'll just laugh his way through his payslip and re-evaluate at the end of the season.

Collins is clearly the better natural talent but so much of goalkeeping depends on mental state. Wilson's seemingly perma-positivity means he doesn't let pressure get to him easily, rightly or wrongly, so he's more likely to be consistently average and he's probably already had the pinnacle season of his career. Collinns appears a lot more introverted so likely to be mentally rocked more easily which transfers to games. The end of last season's timidity seems case in point. Personally I'd rather Wilson as backup but it'll be Collins on the longer contract I reckon.

Collins looked the better keeper when he came into the team last season. Wilson dropped a couple of clangers but was possibly a little unlucky to lose his place at that point. Some of the goals that Collins let in from March onwards were ridiculous though. I'd keep Wilson.
You don't win the Golden Gloves award from pure luck (22/23 season). Also, I still remember that save at QPR last year.

The person that moves will be the one when another team wants them. We may not have any choice but to keep both if we get no offers.

Collins is the better keeper, is younger with more room to grow. I have a lot of love for Wilson and the part he played in our run to the playoff final but this is a no brainer.

Literally either. Both poor keepers but decent enough 2nd choice to play 5 games a season. If I had to choose one it’d be keep Wilson for the bants

So you're saying we should keep 3 first team goalkeepers, alongside Tyler and Bell giving us 5, when the lowest earner of the main 3 is on 10k a week?

We need to shift 1 of them without question ffs

You’d see enough of them in training to know which one to keep and which one to let go. No point having 3 it’s silly

Collins is by far a better keeper and it’s not even close. Wilson was one of the leagues worst performers on xG for goals conceded. Collins was one of the leagues better keepers. Despite his costly mistakes.

Genuinely can’t believe the poll is 60% in favour of ditching Collins. Yeah he had a few bad games but Wilson has been off it for ages, granted they’re both pretty shit for this level but I’d rather keep Collins than Wilson any day. The practical side of things, and what the player wants, are both topics we don’t know anything about but in terms of who I’d rather keep it’s definitely Collins.

We got to a playoff final with Wilson in goal who managed to get the golden glove that season, if you have a strong defence in front of him he won’t be an issue. Collins however, chucking the ball in his goal whenever he fancies-no thanks

Apart from when he starts jumping out the way of the ball.

He didn’t do that much in 22/23. Neither are really what we need unless the defence in front of them is a lot more robust, so may as well keep the cheaper option.
