If 2m is true then look somewhere else

If we spend 2m on his loan and he gets us to the premier league it's money well spent surely?
After talking to my mate earlier I would happily take the gamble than see him go to a rival .
Also "if" and it's a big if we may be able to loan him again if we go up .
For me it's a no brainer
It probably isn't £2million anyway.

We couldn't sign anyone for a fee and four years pay for that amount either. People talk about a Hamer replacement but you're not going to sign one for £2 million fee plus four years salary!

We could probably defer the payment, or some of it anyway. If we can't find or can't afford the players we need, 1 or 2 real quality premier league loans would most likely be the difference whether we get promoted or not.

He's not that good mate, he is not going to be the difference between anyone going up or not.

Not worth it.

Exactly.

It is amazing how someone gives some random figure in here and it is assumed it is right. For two million the only foreign signing we could afford would be a free transfer in the Hillsner mould. The two million woukd go on their salary.

We couldn't afford to sign the extra quality needed to raise the quality if our team other than a loan or two. Virtually ever promoted team does it.

I don't think we've ever had a bad loanee from Liverpool, some have been better than others but in the main they've all performed well or very well.

I can only come up with Stephen Warnock and Richie Partridge.

I don’t think we’re signing anyone even close to Hillßber’s quality!

Given the Stamenic transfer was supposedly £4m, it’s reasonable to reckon we’re looking at players for similar sums.

£2m loan fee without an option to make it permanent is too much for me. A lot of the promoted clubs did use loans but also had massive budgets to play with. What’s a £1.5m loan fee to Leicester for Tom Cannon when they’re paying players £80-100k p/w in the Championship. Likewise, a loan fee for a player who’s wages we’re not able to 100% cover makes sense too.

Our recruitment policies have been spot on far and getting 2-3 more players in puts the squad in a really good place.

I do find this post a tad amusing given that just 2-3 weeks ago you were reasonably happy for the likes of Andrews and Obikwu to provide squad cover.

So because someone has said it's £2 million it must be right mustn't it. I am not sure if it is the same poster who claimed Hull spent a completely ridiculous amount on Carvalho last season. Was it £15 million for a 6 months loan? Some guy said it on the Internet so it must be right eh?

So if you have a budget of £2 milliom and you sign someone for £2 million, are you expecting him to play for free for the next four years? With that budget we could only sign someone from abroad on a free transfer if they aren't prepared to play for free. What's Hillsner doing these days?

But equally you sign someone for £2m you have their value as an asset on your books.

You'd trust the recruitment team too wouldn't you. Been pretty spot on recently.
There's no way we spend 2 million on a loan, its just not very Doug is it.

Well not if you're not paying them. I think they will leave.

These days you pay loan wages too, but if you can sign someone for £2m and sell them for £5m you’ve made a profit overall and had them playing for you. There’s 0% chance of profit in a loan. I’d imagine that’s why Doug doesn’t like them.

Don't see any point in getting a loan in unless they are better than someone else in that position be it as a starter or back up. Realistically we are probably only looking at a wing back of possibly a centre mid. They would have to be better than Dasilva on the left, Lats on the right, Allen/Palmer/Eccles/ Torp in centre mid depending on who starts. That's quite a tough ask to be honest.
